Few civic projects in Dallas carry the personal imprint of Kelcy Warren quite like Klyde Warren Park. The 5.2-acre deck park, built over Woodall Rodgers Freeway, owes much of its existence to Warren’s $10 million founding donation in 2012 and has since become one of the city’s most beloved public spaces.

Bridging Two Halves of a City

Before the park was built, the freeway created a hard divide between Dallas’s uptown and downtown neighborhoods. Klyde Warren Park addressed that divide directly, creating a green corridor that attracts events, food trucks, and families year-round. Kelcy Warren‘s gift helped transform a stretch of highway into a thriving community hub. He later contributed another $20 million toward the park’s expansion and its commitment to free public programming.

Service and Community Engagement

Warren serves on the board of the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, which oversees the park’s operations. His involvement is both financial and organizational. Through Energy Transfer, he also helped support the West Dallas Youth Academy beginning in 2018, through a partnership with the Texas Rangers. Kelcy Warren’s civic contributions in Dallas go beyond writing checks; they reflect an ongoing personal investment in the city’s future. Visit this page for more information.
