Mike Fucci brought innovative governance perspectives to Acadia Healthcare when he joined the board in October 2020. His experience establishing corporate governance forums and redefining board responsibilities at Deloitte U.S. has informed his approach to healthcare board service.
At Deloitte, Fucci established and co-chaired the Board Leadership Forum, a coalition of Fortune 500 board chairs and lead directors who convene to discuss research, trends, and perspectives pertinent to the evolving business environment. This initiative brought together corporate leaders to share governance best practices and address emerging challenges.
Board Transformation Experience
During his tenure as Executive Chairman of Deloitte U.S. from 2015 to 2019, Fucci redefined and communicated a clear vision of the board’s role as a governing body. He established a set of board core values to unite and provide foundation for the board’s responsibilities, focusing on increasing transparency through open communication and difficult conversations.
His approach emphasized strengthening organizational partnership and enhancing succession processes. These governance innovations contributed to Deloitte’s sustained growth during his chairmanship, with revenue increasing 19 percent to $19 billion.
Risk and Compensation Expertise
Fucci has been a member of the Deloitte U.S. Board of Directors since 2013, during which time he led the risk and regulatory committee and served on the committee that evaluates performance and recommends compensation for elected leaders. In 2015, he joined the Deloitte Global Board, where he served on the global governance committee and the compensation and evaluation committee.
At Acadia Healthcare, Fucci brings this governance expertise to bear on matters of strategy, risk mitigation, and executive compensation. His unique perspective on human resource transformation and corporate talent strategies complements the work and expertise of other directors on the board.
Fucci also chaired the Deloitte Foundation, providing strategic oversight of a not-for-profit organization that supports education initiatives across the United States. This philanthropic leadership demonstrates his commitment to organizational mission beyond financial performance.
