In 1994, Alliance Defending Freedom was built as a legal organization to fight for and defend
religious freedom for all people. ADF has grown its foundation with the purpose
of protecting people of various religions. This includes Muslims, Jews,
Christians, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Yazidis, and even people of no faith.
They believe that it is a basic right to be able to practice religion publicly.

Alliance Defending Freedom’s goal is to protect the religious rights of Americans. They
want to ensure that people can live to the standards of their religion without
the government discriminating against them. ADF also fights for Americans’ and
students’ rights to free speech. The ADF’s Center for Academic Freedom specializes
in this mission and has successfully helped in over 400 cases to protect
students’ freedom of speech. Additionally, they fight to protect women,
children, and parental rights throughout the country. Alliance Defending
Freedom has been part of over 70 Supreme Court victories to benefit students,
religious organizations, family-owned businesses, churches, and even a town

Recognized by the European Parliament, UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and
Commission and the Organization of American States (OAS), the Alliance Defending
Freedom also supports international efforts
. ADF International and
its partners defend religious minorities across the globe. They promote free
speech and protect humans from persecution because of their beliefs. ADF even
participates with the EU’s Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the Organization
for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

As the world’s largest legal organization, Alliance Defending Freedom’s focus on
democracy allows them to value different viewpoints on a variety of matters.
This allows them to prioritize the exchange of ideas which leads to respect for
any human being. ADF believes that this is what helps create citizenship and an
evolving and tolerant society. Visit this page for more information.
