For those of you that don’t live in Michigan, I feel sorry for you. Those of us that do always have half a map of our home state with us. And like the comic below eludes to, yes, we do use the palm of our right hand as a map to show those where cities/lakes/etc are when those we are talking about don’t know where they are located.

The comic strip is called “Speed Bump” and I’ve been reading...

None.
I don’t have any and don’t want any.
If, for conversations sake, I was to ever get any, it would have something to do with my sons. I wouldn’t want a tattoo that would become something of a problem years down the road. Whether some fad I outgrow or just some other item that wouldn’t be appropriate in later years.

Well, I’m not going to school, so I have no grades.
I am sure I could be graded on other things though in life. I just hope that I am doing well.

I would say that this is a tie. Mostly due to having two sides of this. One was a purchase that has been great because of what it has brought. The other was great because of the practicality. Those items are the Roku and our Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
The Roku has been great because of being able to watch Netflix movies and TV shows on our actual television without having to deal with the discs themselves. I have been (slowly) working my way through “The Dresden Files”. Because I am not in possession of the discs, I don’t have to worry about it taking so long to watch these. And it just makes it so convenient. It has also helped with movies that Nigel would want to watch. He is able to watch them...

A while back I read “The Girl That Kicked the Hornets’ Nest” by Stieg Larsson. This is the last book in what is being called “The Millenium Trilogy”.

I don’t want to mention much of anything with the plot because it could give things away for those that haven’t read the first two books. This book continues the story from the second book (“The Girl Who Played With Fire”)...

Favorite memory could be rather subjective. There are so many ways you can take this and so many choices. I have fond memories of the days that Nigel and Ian were born. I remember the day Nigel walked on his own for the first time. I remember those times when Nigel would run up to me and say “I love you, Daddy” while trying to give me a hug. I remember those times when Ian would smile and giggle when he would see me for the first time when coming home from work.
I have great memories of times I went out with friends, or went to concerts, or to a hockey game, or played a hockey game, etc. etc. etc. But I think for now I will go with one memory that is from a week long trip to Williamsburg, Virginia.

Stole this one from Roger. He POSTED his top 25, stipulating that there was no set number. So I gave it a try. But I couldn’t stop at 25.
Rules: Create a non-objective list of your favorite albums of the last 20 years (anything released between 1990 and now), remember, this is your FAVORITES so, if Maroon 5’s “Songs About Jane” was your favorite album, that should be number 1, even if you feel “Nevermind” by Nirvana was a more influential album.
Like I said, I went to 50....

Here are a couple of pictures of the boys from a few weeks ago.

Nigel decided to read a book to Ian. Though Nigel doesn’t know how to read as of yet, he has memorized this book.

Ian really enjoys his...

I’m not one to really make a note of famous people passing away, but I have made a few exceptions. I have only seen two movies that James Gammon was in, but his performance/character were priceless in those two. That was of Lou Brown, manager of the Cleveland Indians in “Major League” and “Major League II”. He had the perfect delivery for such a position for these two movies. He left a real lasting impression on me. I don’t know why, but he just did.

Just in case you are interested in knowing what this is all about (Roger …..?), this is what is going on.
Like any sports “fantasy” league, in particular American football, people have a roster of players and need to choose a line-up every week. Based on the stats of those players, they score points for your team. The fantasy league has a schedule to set up what team play against each other, and based on your points it is determined who “won” the game/match.
Our league is based on the players and stats of the Australian Football League, or AFL. The AFL, like the NFL, has games every weekend. Unlike the NFL, every team plays every week except for the AFL’s Split Week in the middle of the...
