Who’s Watching the Watchmen?
I was this weekend.

This is (obviously) the movie version of the graphic novel that I read and REVIEWED recently. I don’t want to rehash the synopsis, so I would recommend reading the review.
Who’s Watching the Watchmen?
I was this weekend.

This is (obviously) the movie version of the graphic novel that I read and REVIEWED recently. I don’t want to rehash the synopsis, so I would recommend reading the review.
It took me a few months to watch 12 episodes, but that’s just the way it is.
This was the short lived series on Sci-Fi (before it was SyFy). It was based on the book series by the same name written by Jim Butcher. Only one of the episodes is based on an actual book plot. Beyond that, it was on it’s own for stories. There are three main characters (though four are showed above). Starting from the left, there is Harry Dresden (Paul Blackthorne) who is a wizard living...

I’m not one to really make a note of famous people passing away, but I have made a few exceptions. I have only seen two movies that James Gammon was in, but his performance/character were priceless in those two. That was of Lou Brown, manager of the Cleveland Indians in “Major League” and “Major League II”. He had the perfect delivery for such a position for these two movies. He left a real lasting impression on me. I don’t know why, but he just did.
I have watched a lot of TV in the past. I would say that in the last ten years that changed. I know I watch less TV, but also my tastes and habits changed. I stopped watching particular shows every week.
The first “real” TV show that I ever started watching on a regular basis was “LA Law”. (I specify “real” because “Looney Tunes” on Saturday morning when I was a kid, or Disney’s “Tailspin” in my college days doesn’t...

Like with the first installment, this is a tough call. How can I say that one movie was better then another when they bring different things to the table? I am not into military type films, or necessarily looking for big political thrillers, but I love “The Hunt for Red October”. Yet it is so different the “Field of Dreams”, which is helped by my love of baseball.
And how can one movie be ruled out when it’s part of a series? Though the first “Matrix”...

What a way to start. It was a tough choice. There are quite a few actors that I really like (and I am using the generic term which includes females). I hate to say it, but the first one that came to mind was Kevin Costner. “Bull Durham” and “Field of Dreams” are two of my five favorite movies. I also really enjoyed “Dances with Wolves”, I really liked how he changed his typical delivery in “Tin Cup”, and even “American Flyers” is a good movie. But there is one other actor that I almost always have to see his work, and not because he is Marcia’s favorite actor, and that’s Johnny Depp.
I am sure many of you have seen the commercials for Netflix where the father and son selling peanut brittle door-to-door and are asked in by a potential customer to watch a movie instantly. They are advertising for Netflix’s program where you can watch movies through them instantly on your TV. Basically it’s “On Demand” without the extra expense. There are many ways you can get this to work, like with a Sony Playstation 3 and other gaming units, or ready made TV’s. But one way to do it is with a unit called Roku.
A week or so before Christmas, I bought the movie “Up” for myself. I have gained a great affinity for the work of Pixar. It stars the voice talents of Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, newcomer Jordan Nagai, and in smaller roles, Bob Peterson, Delroy Lindo, Jerome Ranft, and as usual John Ratzenberger makes an appearance, too.
For those of you in the world that haven’t seen the movie yet, all seven of you, here is the best description...

Being unemployed, and having a newborn, you tend to lose track of the days.
Parents
My parents are heading out to Pennsylvania to spend some time with their newest grandchild today. They will be here through Friday. We are looking forward to seeing them again. As it stands, if I am not employed by Thanksgiving, we will not be making the trek out to Michigan for Christmas. So this may be the last time we see them in a while.
Lions
Not that I am a huge NFL fan to begin with, and though from Detroit and clinging to my baseball and hockey loyalties, I am not a Lions fan. But in some respects, I am excited a bit this year. I think that the team’s direction, for the first time...

So Nigel has been crazy about “Monsters, Inc.” lately. I would say that we average about 1 1/2 viewings a day. The only thing bringing that number down lately has been “Finding Nemo”. But I have found that I really love “Monsters, Inc.”, too. So one day while looking for the special trailers that didn’t feature any scenes from the movie on YouTube, I came across the following video. It uses the audio from “The Dark Knight” but images from “Monsters, Inc.”
