One of my favorite musicians, Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist of the rock band Rush, arranged and recorded a new version of the Hockey Night in Canada theme that debuted a couple of nights ago, though traditionally broadcast on Saturdays. Here it is …..

Typical of Peart’s style, a bit overplayed. OK, a lot overplayed, but his style fits within the band. And for good measure, you may notice the drums and his hat have logos of some of the NHL teams. For my fellow Red Wings’ fans, the winged wheel is above his right ear.
