Before appearing on the Colbert Report, Rush was sent up against the video game “Rock Band” to see how they would do “performing” their own song “Tom Sawyer”. As you can see, it’s not as easy as it looks.
I love Geddy’s comment at the end. “I guess I should find another band.”

So it’s been a while. I used to do this more often. Been busy lately. But it’s time to “Ask Scooter Anything” again. Just post your questions in the comments section of this post, and a week or so later (maybe even earlier) I will post my answers. You can ask anything you want, and I will answer the best I can. I do reserve the right to be a smart-ass though.

We had a very good time yesterday, though it was a long and tiring day, and most of it spent standing in line (or sitting on the concrete).
We got there early to be near the front of the line, making sure we at least got in, and not being sure how they do the seating. But we got there so early, no one was there. We ended up grabbing lunch at a pub-like place a few blocks north of the studio, then went for a long walk to Times Square.
When we got back to the studio, a couple was waiting in line, and so the “fun” began. They don’t have issues with you stepping out of line to get foor or find a restroom, so long as someone in your party stays in line, so Marcia and I both took turns stepping out. But eventually...

Marcia and I will be in New York most of the day. We will be attending the “Colbert Report” tonight. We need to get there early as tickets are free, and though we are on the list for the show, it’s still no guarantee. We also hope to spend a little time walking around and will be grabbing a late lunch / early dinner before taking our place in line.

I saw THIS at Roger’s web site. Thought I find out how my site ranked.

Obviously if I had talked about the NHL canceled season and it’s illustrious commissioner Gary Bettman more, that number would have been a lot higher.

My 20th year high school reunion is coming up soon. I won’t be attending. Given the lack of vacation time, and more importantly the cost of gas and just about everything else, it’s just not worth it. (Especially if it’s too expensive to go on vacation or visit my family.) I went to my 10th year reunion and it was pretty good. If there is a 25th, I will try a little harder to attend. But this year, it’s just not worth it. No offense to my former classmates. Heck, most probably won’t care that I’m not there anyway.
Between the reunion and a conversation that Marcia and I had a few days ago, it got me to thinking about my days in high school. The teachers I had. My fellow students. Just everything...

On Monday I finished reading “The Southpaw” by Mark Harris.

The book is fiction, but it is told via first person and as a memoir. Henry Wiggen is from a small town called Perkinsville, New York. His father had a shot at being a big league pitcher, but decided to take up the family life instead. The story goes back to touch on Henry’s life growing up, then moves to his days of playing semi-pro ball with the local team that he father also pitches for, his signing with the New York Mammoths (the fictional equal to the Yankees), his two years in AA ball (the Queen City Cowboys out in Colorado), and eventually...

Amazon introduced a new item that can be added to your browser. You drag it over your bookmarks toolbar, and instantly a new item will appear that says “Add to Wish List”. Anytime you see something on a site that you would like, you can add it to your Amazon Wish List by clicking the new button.
I thought this was very cool, because I have found a few items over time (and have forgotten some along the way) that weren’t available at Amazon, yet they were things I have wanted. Obviously, by being able to add these items, you can have just one list, regardless of what site they are found on. Sooooooo …. for those of you that are looking for Birthday gift ideas, or later on Christmas gift ideas, you can now...

It’s time for another Rush album. Not bad if you think about it. Three of the first 75 “favorite albums” are by Rush. Shows my very high interest in the band, but doesn’t make me out to be a total geek or fanboy (which is probably indeed the case). I usually mention in this section of how I came across the artist. A reminder to those reading is...

This past week we have been worried about Nigel and his sleep. We have had times before when we knew he wasn’t getting enough because of lack of naps, or him waking up rather early in the morning or from his naps. But we have never had a problem getting him into his crib at night and sleeping. Usually he would quickly kiss Marcia and I and be pointing that he wanted to be put into his crib.
For some reason though things have changed. Instead of laying down, smiling, waving, and saying “night, night”, he sits up at one end and has a hesitant smile that looks like something is bothering him, but he’s not sure what. He doesn’t want the light turned off anymore either. And a few nights this past week...
