Pictures of Nigel Aussie Rules Fantasy Football - Rnd 7

Last night I went to the Phillies game. It was the second time I have seen the Fightin’s since moving to Pennsylvania. I would like to go more, but living up in the Lehigh Valley makes it quite a trip. But last night it was put together by Brian, a friend and fellow Aussie Rules fantasy league player, from the sports forum that we are members of, the Chris Creamer Sports Forum. He put together the site mostly to track the different logos teams have used over the years, but the forum is more then active on other aspects of sports, as well as off-topic conversation.

It was really cool to meet Brian, Will, and Steve. (Will is also a participant in the Aussie Rules league.) And I would have liked more time to just chat with them, other then watching the game. We hope to put together another outing later in the season. I am going to suggest meeting somewhere to eat and talk first. We chatted a bit before getting to our seats, but I have a feeling that we could have talked all night without even watching the game. All three are really nice guys.

As for the game, well the Fightin’s didn’t look all that great, but got themselves out of a few jams. Brett Myers, the starting pitcher, only gave up one run in the first, but had bases loaded with only one out before they got out of the inning. After that shaky start, he pitched well, only giving up one more run and striking out ten. The Phils offense came from two solo home runs, one by Chase Utley (who leads the NL in this category) and Geoff Jenkins.

Other then those two home runs, little else came from the Phils’ bats. It was kind of a sad display, but could have been worse.

As always, it was great to go out and see “America’s pasttime” in real life, even if it was tough on the ol’ wallet.
