Roger POSTED an answer to a question put to him by another blogroll friend.
Who were the people you had a crush on when you were 18 or younger, people who were at least semi-famous; i.e., not your teacher or your best friend’s parent?
Here are mine:
You will see a trend rather quickly with the first three.
First, was Christie Brinkley. The following picture is what did it.

Next was Paulina Porizkova.

Then there was Kathy Ireland.

The swimsuit edition she graced was in 1989, which is actually over the limit on this question. However, she was a model in many editions before. I just wanted to show the trend.
I have thought about this a lot, and besides these three, I really can’t think of any. Other then Kristy McNichol.

I know there may have been a few more, but sadly most of them were probably in those Sports Illustrated swimsuit editions. I seemed to developed crushes a bit later though on a few. Marisa Tomei (”My Cousin Vinny”), Claire Danes (”My So-Called Life”), and Bridget Fonda (”Point of No Return”) to name a few.

Well, all right then. Probably proves my wife’s point about the SI swimsuit isssue, which is one of the few times I actively ignore her suggestions.
I was way over 21 when these came out. I DO remember Paulina Porizkova in particular, though.

I think part of the problem was that at a young age I was such a sports nut. The television I watched was old re-runs (”The Brady Bunch”, “Gilligan’s Island”, etc.) that didn’t bring along those normal crushes. Though I did watch “The Dukes of Hazard” and “T. J. Hooker”, but for some reason never really thought much of Catherine Bach and Heather Locklear.

That’s pretty much how my body looked before I had Nigel.
