Brandon Inge Still a Tiger
In an ARTICLE that showed up on the Detroit Free Press web site, it appears that Brandon Inge may still be around Comerica Park this season. After talking with the GM and manager Jim Leyland, he said he would accept being the Tigers’ back-up catcher and super sub. That’s good news for Tigers’ fans. However, Inge says he is not happy about it. He ultimately wants to start at third base, his favorite position, with some team. But remaining in Detroit is still a good option. Also, both the Tigers’ other catchers (including Ivan Rodriguez) will be free agents at the end of the season. Inge will still have one year remaining, so could step into being the starting catcher. Still not his ultimate goal, but getting a chance to play everyday is a better option to him then riding the pine.

Though he is not happy, it seems that Inge is going to try and make the best of it. What more can you ask for? (And for the record, he still may be traded to a team in need of a starting third baseman.)

Cow and Moon Comics
I recently POSTED a comic about a cow jumping over the moon. A few days later the following one showed up.

I thought it might be just coincidence. By the way, the comic is called “Off the Mark” and is by Mark Parisi.

Then this one showed up two days after the one above.

This one is called “Strange Brew” and by John Deering and John Newcombe. Considering some of the things I have seen in the past from other comic strips, I have a feeling now that this was planned. Of course, I could be wrong.

Wrecking the New Mini-van?
This past Sunday, Marcia subbed at a church she used to work at (nice warm-up for this coming Sunday’s debut at the new church). On the way home, I missed a turn, not knowing the streets of some areas of Bethlehem too well yet, but we found our way back. The problem though was going through an intersection at normal speeds and not realizing a HUGE dip in the road. I hit the brakes, but not fast enough, and down and up we went. I could hear scraping, but wasn’t too worried about anything. That was until much later in the day.

When I let Molson out that evening, I noticed a small puddle of something appearing under the mini-van. Needless to say, I wasn’t happy. Nothing like having a new vehicle for two weeks and already breaking something. I couldn’t determine what the fluid was, being that the excess had dried already, but told Marcia to keep an eye and ear out when driving it the following day.

When she got home that afternoon, I pulled the car up more so that it had another area to drip. I also took a good look under the mini-van and fortunately saw a lot of guards and frame to get in the way of actually damaging something that would leek. Later in the evening when letting Molson out I was happy to see no new puddle. Also, after getting some rain the following day, there wasn’t any oil-like separation where the spot was. Now it’s a waiting game. Hopefully there wasn’t any damage done that will bite us weeks/months down the road. Signs are pointing that it might have just been condensation/water and not some other vital fluid.

Yzerman Got Duped
I was just telling my Mom one night when visiting during the holidays about a wonderful thing that Steve Yzerman had been doing the last few years of his career for a sick young boy that lived in Denver, but was a Wings’ fan. I had read about it on ESPN a while back. Now there is a new ARTICLE about him.

The kid’s father duped Yzerman and everyone else into thinking that his son was still sick all these years later. It’s a real shame that there are people out there like that taking advantage of someone generosity.
