Nigel had his speech evaluation yesterday morning. It was a nice surprise to get a phone call on Wednesday afternoon saying they had an opening for him on Thursday. Marcia mentioned that we were told to get a full hearing test first, before scheduling the speech evaluation. But Marcia was told they didn’t care about the hearing test as of yet, so if we wanted, we could bring him in.
Much to our relief, he is doing better then we thought. Obviously his word count is well behind that of a 26 month old. But his knowledge of words, actions towards words, and his babbling, which they said shows signs of trying to say short sentences, were all in line with his age.
