On Sunday afternoon, we had Nigel’s Birthday Party.

Marcia ordered Nigel some balloons for the shindig, which have become significant since Nigel loves them so much now. The first set of pictures are of him playing with the balloons before taking his nap.

So yesterday morning I checked my email before going to work. I was shocked to see an email from the company that hosts my web site (along with David’s, Brian’s, Catherine’s, Jenn’s, my Family’s, and our Pizza Night site) saying that I hadn’t paid them in 10 months, so they were pulling the plug. I had set it up with them to have the payments to be charged automatically to my credit card, so I was a bit confused. They also reminded me that back in January of this...

Two years ago, this was Nigel’s first picture, when he was about 20 minutes old.

Now the Munchkin Man looks something like this:

Probably a bit cuter now, but some still say he looks like me. (Poor kid.)

Anyway, today is Nigel’s 2nd birthday. We will be celebrating with a big bash, with many guests, which include Nigel’s grandparents from Michigan (my Mom and Dad). I will certainly post pictures of the shindig after.

I recently finished listening to the audio rendition, narrated by Anthony Heald, of the novel “Eifelheim” by Michael Flynn.

When this novel was first published, I was rather interested in reading it. However, given time to think about it, and my recent disinterest of science fiction novels, I passed on it. About a month ago or so, I found out about a site where you can download music and audiobooks. They were making trial memberships available where you could download many songs for free, and also get an audiobook for free. I figured with my iPod, it would be...

John Buccigross of ESPN is a huge hockey fan. He used to host “NHL2Nite” when ESPN broadcast their games. Now he has a great column on ESPN’s web site about hockey. He has a lot of interesting insight, and a lot of interesting views and opinions. He usually answers readers’ questions. And sometimes he has those from the game answer reader questions.

This week he brought in Bill Clement. Clement (career stats) was one of the famed Broad Street Bullies, playing for the Philadelphia Flyers in...

Back on Saturday afternoon (if I remember correctly), Marcia and I watched “Evan Almighty” starring Steve Carell, and co-starring John Michael Higgins, Wanda Sykes, Jonah Hill, John Goodman, Lauren Graham, and of course Morgan Freeman.

For those of you that don’t know, this is a pseudo-sequel to “Bruce Almighty” in which God gives Buffalo news reporter Bruce Nolan his powers. This time around, Evan Baxter (Steve Carell), who was the new co-anchor of the station Bruce worked at, now is leaving the station for his new post as the US Representative for the Buffalo area, packing up and moving...

The power went out yesterday morning while I was checking my email, just before taking my shower. It is pretty darn dark in a basement without lights. Luckily I know the lay of the land well and found my way back upstairs. The problem though, other then not being able to see, is that my Mother-In-Law has a well. And that means there was limited water left in the pump, making a shower almost impossible. Especially since some of us still needed to use other facilities that require water.

After calling PP&L a few times, we heard that the estimated time our power would be back was 11:00. I called my supervisor at work and told him I would be late, or possibly not in at all. (I just can’t stand the idea of going to work,...

On Saturday night, I finished reading “Dark Sister” by Graham Joyce.

dark-sister.jpg

I have read a few book descriptions for this one and have decided to alter the best one, because some of the plot points were incorrect. So here is Tamara Hladik’s description/review of the book that is listed as the description at Amazon.Com with my corrections/additions:

“Dark Sister” is the third book by British fantasy writer Graham Joyce to be published in the United States – and the author travels further into the realm of pure horror than he did in “The Tooth Fairy” or “Requiem”....
