My brother-in-law David had mentioned a couple of weeks before I bought my iPod that Apple would be releasing a new one soon, sometime in the fall. He told me what the new features were, and other then more space, none of them were that interesting to me. Through our conversation too, I got the impression that even with them releasing the new ones, the old ones wouldn’t go down in price.
Well the new iPods were released yesterday. And guess what? The old ones were priced $100 less then what I purchased mine for. I was not happy to hear that (David emailed me the info). But I went to Apple’s site and found out that they had a “grace period” of sorts. If they drop the price within 10 days of your purchase, they refund you the difference. I came in under the time frame. So my iPod just got $100 cheaper by my dumb luck. Not only was I lucky enough to have David inform me of this price change, but I am lucky I held off my purchase.
