I am now the proud owner of an iPod! Yes, me. One of the many people that is usually behind on the technological front. I wouldn’t say that I am always behind, or not embracing technology. It is due mostly to affordability. However, an iPod started becoming a good option back in June.
I approached Marcia one day a couple of months ago and told her that I had an idea for my birthday. In the past I always said to look at my wish list at Amazon.Com and you could find plenty of ideas. But this year there was something of greater interest. Since my new employer didn’t allow employees to put songs on the PC’s they worked on, I would be very interested in getting an iPod. It was much easier then lugging around CD’s that I wanted to listen to for the day.
So Marcia talked to everyone involved, and those that hadn’t already gotten me gifts, they all said they would give me a cash gift to help pay for the iPod. Thank you to all of you, and those that got me other great gifts, too. I finally ordered the iPod this past Saturday from Apple directly (I had priced it at a couple of places, including Amazon, but they were all the same price or more then from Apple), and it arrived yesterday afternoon!
I have loaded up quite a few songs in the first go around, taking up over 4gb (I got the 80gb version). Some of them I may take off and reload, since I did it from another ripping through Windows Media Player, but I wanted something to get me going. I am sure I will spend a lot of time this weekend uploading more music into it.
Now I have plenty of music to listen to at work, and all of it fits into one pocket
