Even though the weather was hot and muggy, Marcia, Nigel, and I braved the crowds and walked around MusikFest. This is the 11 day music festival (as the name hints at) that invades Bethlehem every early August. The performers range from local talent, to unsigned/independent singers/songwriters who have a regional following, to big international artists (this year the likes of Deep Purple, Joe Walsh, the Moody Blues, the Yellowjackets, and Joan Osborne). It is something we usually steer clear of for fear of dealing with the crowds. Plus some city streets are closed. It also has kept me from going to the Bethlehem Brew Works on my birthday (this Thursday) because it’s just a mess down there....
