Rafael Nadal is the French Open champ for the third straight year; 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. And for the second straight year he beat the world’s number one player in the finals, Roger Federer, denying him his career Grand Slam yet again.

I watched most of the match with my Mother-In-Law (along with Marcia, all three of us are avid tennis fans). And what we had hoped would be a great match turned into a gut wrenchingly bad performance by Roger Federer. Though he took the second set, he looked like he had little confidence in himself. What didn’t help was his first serve was just awful.

Federer must have been rather upset with himself because he refused the request from Bud Collins for an after match interview.
