Clapping For Nigel
Or to be more correct, Nigel is clapping. He is not really making any noise, it’s very soft, more like making the motions of clapping. But he gets a big smile on his face when we ask him to clap and do it along with him. That smile is the proud look that he knows he’s doing something that is good and will give him praise.

It started a couple of days ago when Nigel was taking two of his blocks and hitting them together. Marcia noticed this and starting clapping along with him. Soon he dropped the blocks and Marcia started clapping to see if he would still move his hands that way without the blocks. Sure enough he did.

It is truly amazing to watch your child grow and learn. I have come to find out firsthand over the past year why others have said that being a parent is the greatest thing that ever happened to them.

The NHL Playoffs Start Wednesday
That pretty much says it all. Glad this time of the year is finally here.

My Red Wings, the number one seed, open up against the Calgary Flames, the number eight seed. But for many reasons, I worry that the Wings won’t have an easy time, and might even be a bit of an underdog. We shall see.

Stardust - The Movie
David POSTED the trailer to this upcoming movie. It is based on the book “Stardust” by Neil Gaiman, a favorite author of mine (which David introduced me to). The book is written to be an “adult fairy tale” and suceeds on that promise. Based on the trailer the movie seems to have captured that feeling, too.

There is quite a cast that includes Claire Danes, Robert DeNiro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ian McKellan, Peter O’Toole, Rupert Everett, and Ricky Gervais. Gonna have to make a deal with Marcia to make sure I see this one in the theater.

New Beer
I had my first taste of La Chouffe on Easter. Yes, that’s pretty bad of me being the Belgian beer fan that I am. But I never had the opportunity to get any except for once, and that was at the Steelgaarden in Bethlehem which only stocks Belgian beers.

Anyway, it is every bit as good as hyped! (Rare these days that anything ever is as good as hyped.) It came in a 750 litre bottle, so I shared a bit of it with David and Marcia. However, I shall be buying another bottle of it the next chance I get. Certainly don’t want to miss out on it again. And I probably won’t share it either. Well, maybe I will.
