Modano Passes Mullen
Wanted to send my congrats out to Detroit native Mike Modano of the Dallas Stars. He surpassed Joey Mullen’s record of 502 goals scored in the NHL by an American last night. Modano has been a real credit to the game, after growing up in Livonia (I think he went to the same high school that my cousins John, Sarah, and Lisa did), playing his entire career (so far) with the Dallas Stars / Minnesota North Stars. Though seen as one of the pretty boys of the league, and was a bachelor for most of that time, he has always been a hard worker and willing to change his game for the better of the team. He helped lead the Stars to the 1999 Stanley Cup Championship. Modano now only trails Phil Housley...
