We haven’t had a Pizza Night in a long time, but we used to have it every Friday. There was also a time when our friends Ed and Shannon used to host it every week. That was when they lived in an apartment on Main Street in Hellertown, PA (they have since moved). The building that they lived in caught fire this afternoon.

You can see in the picture above that it doesn’t look good. The window on the top left of the building where there is no smoke coming out of (about the only window), is one of two windows in the dining room where we would normally eat and play games after. Pretty wild to think about those days of hanging out there...

Nigel had his 15 month check-up yesterday. This is probably the longest stretch he has gone without seeing a doctor. (He’s a healthy kid, by the way.) He weighed in at 24 and a half pounds. I found that surprising. I thought he weighed a bit more than that. The weight put him in the 55th percentile, which was a relief especially to Marcia since at times he doesn’t seem to want to eat. The doctor said that he is obviously eating enough. Not sure how tall he was, but was in the high 60’s for percentile. His head size was of course off the charts, but there is no worries about that anymore.

The doctor was asking questions and saying that there are a few developmental things that Nigel should be doing now. He...

In an ARTICLE by Damien Cox regarding the trade between the Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders at the deadline that sent longtime Oiler and (nearly) hometown star Ryan Smyth to Long Island, he had a funny quote about players getting traded during their career.

Everybody, other than Steve Yzerman, gets traded at one time or another.

Joe Sakic, Mike Modano, and Martin Brodeur will probably join Yzerman’s feat of playing for one franchise their entire career (and I specify franchise since Sakic and Modano have played in two different cities because their teams moved)....
