Red Wings Beat Predators
I forgot the game was on Versus last night. I had wanted to see it. A big showdown between the two best records in the Western Conference AND the Central Division. The winner of the division will more then likely get the first seed, while the other settles for the fourth. Well, the Wings have really handed it to the Preds this year and continued last night with a 2-1 WIN.

According to ESPN’s web site, the Wings take over first place in the division and conference. This is still important for seeding, but this year the difference is between opening with Dallas (the fifth seed currently) or Calgary (the eighth...

I have mentioned before that I am a member of BookMooch.Com, a great site for trading books. I got a request a week ago for one of the books I have. Lately I have been buying the padded envelopes directly from the Post Office because it’s easier then making a stop somewhere else to get them. I know, it’s a bit lazy, and is actually more expensive (though only a quarter more a piece). Well that laziness just came back to bite me in the butt.

The envelope opened somewhere along the line and the book fell out. But here’s the kicker - the idiot carrier STILL DELIVERED THE EMPTY ENVELOPE!! I don’t know if it’s just me, but shouldn’t they be sending the package...

Interesting, isn’t it? But what does it mean?

Roger has had a similar strange code at the top of his blog and I always wondered what it meant. So I asked him during his latest round of questions. It’s kind of funny and weird, but it didn’t keep me away from finding out mine.

You can find yours HERE.

On Monday afternoon I finished reading “As the Crow Flies” by Jeffrey Archer. I had gotten into a discussion with a newer employee then me at work and he mentioned this book. It sounded interesting enough to get a copy from BookMooch. Glad I did.

A helpful hint of the story is given by Antoinette Klein of Hoover, Alabama in her review at Amazon.Com (because I really didn’t like the plot description they have):

Archer uses his rags-to-riches theme with Charlie Trumper, young barrow boy from the Whitechapel area of London’s East End. Charlie masters the fine craft of becoming the best fruit and vegetable...

Unbelievable as it may be, it’s true.

As much as he can be a real idiot at times, I am glad to see NHL Commisioner Gary Bettman’s approach to the recent issue of player safety in the NHL in regards to fighting. (ARTICLE thanks to ESPN’s web site.) For those that don’t know, a recent fight between Todd Fedoruk of the Philadelphia Flyers and Colton Orr of the New York Rangers led NHL exec Colin Campbell to say that they need to look into things. It led to many people getting worried that he meant taking fighting completely out of the game.

Bettman said that it wasn’t the...

Tool - “10,000 Days”

Tracks:

  2. Jambi
  3. Wings for Marie, Part 1
  4. 10,000 Days (Wings, Part 2)
  5. The Pot
  6. Lipan Conjuring

  8. Roseta Stoned
  9. Intension
  10. Right in Two
  11. Viginti Tres

Like many people that listened to rock radio in the early to mid 90’s, I eventually heard the weirdness that was Tool. Their first single “Sober” hit the airwaves and had a lot of heads turning. Their sound, in many respects, has remained rather constant, but their delivery has...

The Hole in My Back
I saw the doctor again yesterday and he says the “wound” looks great. Everything is going as planned. He took off the huge dressing and removed the packing and said that now we should put Neosporin on it twice a day, and any big BandAid will do. I see him again this coming Wednesday when he feels he can take out the sutures from what he did stitch up. I am not sure if he will be closing the rest of it though. I have a funny feeling that I am going to have to wait a bit longer before that happens.

Funny Sign
There is a rather amusing sign outside of the office building where the doctor I have been seeing about the cyst makes his home. It is in the grass...

So here are the answers to the latest edition of “Ask Scooter Anything.”

As I had said the first time around, none of my answers are in any way meant to offend anyone and should not be taken that way, even if they differ from your own opinion. Remember, this site is my site, therefore full of my opinions. And even if I rant about something, it doesn’t mean that I want to upset anyone or disagree for the sake of argument.

So here they are!

My brother-in-law David asked:

Why has the USA not gone 100% metric?

Damn good question! A question that I have been...

So on top of the healing of the cyst removal, I now have a rather impressive cold. I was running a fever last night, so I had to cancel my doctor’s appointment which was a follow-up on the cyst. I figured I wouldn’t go into work today, but woke up at 6:30 feeling rather good (I usually get up at 4:20). So I decided that I could go in, given that there were a few things that needed to get done by Friday, and this would give the engineer in charge more time to look it over. By the time I go to work though, I was right back to where I was. Proving that even if you feel better after resting when sick, continue to rest!

I worked four and a half hours, getting done what I needed, and promptly came home. Marcia needed some...

Alright. I was just thinking about doing this, and then Roger just POSTED the same thing. (Of course, I stole the idea from him in the first place.) Aw, to heck with it! I am doing it anyway.

It’s time to Ask Scooter Anything again. You can ask as many questions as you like and I have to answer them. You can see some of the past times I have done this and what my answers were (HERE and HERE). You can post your questions...
