Well, it may matter not to any of you readers, but I did some updates to the site. Nothing that would take any skill at building a web site however. It was “input only” kind of stuff.
I ended up changing the About Me page a bit. It had been a while. A few things I added, and a few things I had to change. I also added a My Favorites page. Probably kind of dorky and geeky, but that’s me sometimes. I am still working on it though and will probably add other things later.

WHAT?!
Oh, Mr. Holland, you are really testing the trust now.
I am shocked at this move, and that’s an understatement. Bertuzzi not only has a dark cloud over him from his jaded past from ending Steve Moore’s career after a cheap-shot, but he has been injured most of the season, only playing seven games, and ISN’T READY TO RETURN!! Yet they gave up a prospect and two draft picks for him, and if he re-signs with the Wings, they cough up another two picks
YIKES!!
For those that want to know, you can read the ARTICLE from ESPN’s web site.

Jeopardy! Teen Tournament
The Teen Tournament has been over for a couple of weeks, but I found out another interesting fact. As mentioned before, my sister-in-law Catherine is a teacher at the high school runner-up Ben Schenkel attends. However, her husband David attended the same high school that winner David Walter attends. Small world, eh?
Wings Trade for Kyle Calder
I have learned to trust Red Wings’ GM Ken Holland. And the teams’ scouts. That trust is being used right now. The Wings made a three-team trade last night, acquiring Kyle Calder from the Philadelphia Flyers through the Chicago Blackhawks. Calder was traded by the Hawks to the Flyers during the off-season...

- World Machine
- Physical Presence
- Leaving Me Now
- Hot Water
- It’s Not the Same for Us
- Good Man in a Storm
- That Chant Has Begun
- Lying Still
The great graces of MTV have introduced me to so many different musical artists. Level 42 is yet another. (Pausing to reminisce about the good ol’ days of MTV.) “Something About You” turned out to be a decent hit for them on the pop charts, and video saw a lot of airplay on MTV. It took me over...

OK, so I posted the prologue and first chapter.
First, let me give you a quick rundown of what the story will be about after finished. The story is about an 11 year old boy named Jimmy. He is the only child of his parents. Every Saturday Jimmy and his parents go and visit his paternal grandfather. Jimmy loves going there because his grandfather has a huge piece of property that is mostly wooded that he likes going and exploring around with his Jack Russell Terrier named Herman. This particular Saturday though Jimmy comes across a portal to another world quite by accident when Herman disappears. He goes in after to find Herman, but finds himself in Amber Land, though it seems to be dying all around him. There he meets Jerum who...

Movie watching binge! WOO HOO!! This afternoon I watched M. Night Shyamalan’s “Lady in the Water” starring M. Night Shyamalan, but mostly Paul Giamatti and Bryce Dallas Howard.

The move is a fairy tale that comes to life. Apartment superintendent Cleveland Heep (Giamatti) finds a woman swimming in the complex pool. He tries to go after her, but can’t catch or find her. After getting out of the pool, he slips and hits his head, falling back into the pool unconscious. He wakes up in his bed, and the woman (Howard) sitting beside him in the couch. She reveals herself as a “narf” named Story and that she needs...

Marcia and I are breaking out of our slump. Two movies in three days! Last night it was “The Da Vinci Code” starring Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen, Jean Reno, Paul Bettany, and Alfred Molina.

I think most have some idea of what the movie is about, but just quickly:
There is a murder in the famed Louvre in Paris. Before dying, and before being confronted, obviously knowing he was being chased, the murder victim writes a few notes so only to be picked up by ultraviolet light, paints/carves symbols on himself, and positions himself all to be symbols and codes for someone to figure out who murdered him and what they...

Marcia has this thing about going out for breakfast. So a few weeks ago since I wasn’t working on Saturday we decided to go to Cracker Barrel (I forgot to post about it). It was Nigel’s first true “eating out” adventure. I did have to stop at the office that morning, so we figured it would be worth the trip being down the road. It turned out to be a nice time. Though we would have liked to sit closer to the fire place.
This morning, since I wasn’t working, we decided to go out for breakfast again. This time we chose Perkins’ since it was closer, and we had some other errands to run so it wasn’t far from where we were going. Again, it was a nice time and Nigel was very well behaved. ...

Over the course of two days, Marcia and I watched the latest in British comedy, “Keeping Mum” starring Rowan Atkinson, Kristin Scott Thomas, Patrick Swayze, and Maggie Smith.

Here is a quick synopsis, found at Amazon.Com:
Walter Goodfellow (Atkinson), the vicar for the small English country parish of Little Wallop, has allowed his marriage to Gloria (Thomas) go stale and he is so detached from his family that he has not taken notice that his 17-year-old daughter Holly is going through a succession of inappropriate relationships with unsuitable boyfriends and his son Petey fears going to school due to being bullied. Out...

For you hockey fans out there, you can mosey over to ESPN and read Scott Burnside’s COLUMN today about the Original Six. He brings up a good point that the history and mystique of those “original” six teams may be lost on most fans these days. The first wave of expansion was 40 years ago, so any fans under 40 years of age has no recollection of the Original Six days.
However, there are some uber-fans of the NHL that may know a lot of the history of the game, and the mystique of the Original Six days. Say someone like, oh I don’t know, maybe me? I have two books that I almost read cover to cover...
