Nigel had a rough day yesterday, though you wouldn’t know it by looking at him play.
He had his appointment with the specialist yesterday regarding his head size. The doctor is suggesting that we let them schedule the MRI to see what is going on with his head. He is confident that there is nothing wrong. The way Marcia put it (since I wasn’t at the appointment with her) was that the doctor is a little frustrated and feels bad that the pediatricians keep sending Nigel to see him and he finds nothing wrong. So with the MRI he can clinically prove that there is nothing wrong and there will not be anymore need to see him.
After getting back, Marcia gave Nigel some milk. Over the past week after MENTIONING that we were getting him off the formula, he has been having reactions to it. Nothing severe. But wherever the milk touches, he gets red, and even gets some small welts. Well it happened again yesterday, so Marcia called the pediatrician. I believe they suggested trying the soy milk, but keeping him mostly on the formula. But they also said that we need to take him to see an allergist.
For the most part, Nigel is a healthy boy. I know Marcia is getting frustrated dealing with these doctors, and it’s especially tough on her when our son is healthy. It’s nice to see that the doctors are thorough, but I am sure she will even more happy then I will be when we are done with the constant running around with all these doctors’ appointments. I give Marcia a lot of credit, though I may not show it to her, for keeping tabs on all of this stuff as thoroughly as she does.

HI Scott and Marcia,
Sorry to hear of Nigel’s allergy to milk. Is it all milk products? Does he tolerate cheese or yogurt products as another source of calcium? Could he drink that lactose free milk product? I know several children at the preschool center drink that because they are allergic to regular milk. Hope this helps. Love Aunt Mary
