Last night, while trying to stay awake, I gave up reading “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle” by Haruki Murakami. Sounds like a strange thing to say, I know. But I just couldn’t care anymore for the characters or the end of the story.

Here is a rundown of the story thanks to Amazon.Com:
Bad things come in threes for Toru Okada. He loses his job, his cat disappears, and then his wife fails to return from work. His search for his wife (and his cat) introduces him to a bizarre collection of characters, including two psychic sisters, a possibly unbalanced teenager, an old soldier who witnessed the massacres on...

Didn’t see this coming. And was quite honestly surprised the Tigers would obtain an old and well paid player. The hard-hitting Shef is not known as a really nice guy. But it is stated that he loved playing for Jim Leyland when together with the Marlins. You can read the ARTICLE from ESPN for more info.

The article says that Leyland plans on using him as a DH. I totally forgot about the DH. My first thought was that the Tigers outfield is solid, and so is first base (even though Sheffield hating playing it). It makes sense to have another big bat in the line-up. Hopefully...

Since we got back online in the middle of the week, I hadn’t really had time to post anything. So I figured the best way to get back into it is posting pictures of Nigel, who is fast approaching his first birthday by the way.
First, we have Nigel in his Tommy Hilfigger sweater. We bought it in Virginia this summer from the clearance rack, and we had a coupon. (Only way we can afford those kind of labels.)

Next is a picture of Nigel with Yvonne. Her and Andy (right) were hosting Pizza Night a few weeks ago. Nigel looks like he is really having fun.

Here...

Still trying to clean out all of our stuff from the apartment. And trying to clean it. Did most of that this weekend. Still have two quick things to clean, and another truck load of stuff, and we are DONE!
Our home internet connection gets installed on Wednesday. After that it should get a little more lively around here.

I noticed that I am one of the shorter employees where I work now. That wasn’t the case before. The place I spent the last five-plus years at, I was one of the tallest. It doesn’t bother me, but it’s strange looking up a bit at fellow employees instead of looking level or down.
I have been stuck behind quite a few of these people lately. They drive as much as 10 mph below the speed limit, however speed up to a very high rate as soon as they see a yellow light. Why is that? Kind of defeats the purpose of driving so slow in the first place.
Why is it that you hear about a great script idea floating around Hollywood, whether original or based on a great book, but it never gets filmed. Yet some of the stupidest...

Marcia and I watched “Scary Movie 4″ last night. Marcia thought it would be funny, and I figured that I could use a good laugh. We also assumed that we wouldn’t miss anything if we didn’t see the first three movies.

What a stupid movie it turned out to be. (Quite honestly I didn’t expect much to begin with.) I will admit that the opening section with Dr. Phil and Shaquille O’Neal was funny. It was a spoof of the horror movie “Saw” and it was good to see that both Dr. Phil and Shaq can make fun of themselves. But after that it was ridiculous. Other then “Saw”, it spoofed “War...
