“Listen to them roar - Tigers in four!”
— FOX Sports Announcer
Yes, the Tigers defeated the mighty Yankees tonight, eliminating them from the playoffs. Now the Tigers face the Oakland A’s In the American League Championship. It is a rematch of sorts of 1972 when the A’s beat the Tigers on the way to three World Series victories in a row. It will be the first trip for the Tigers since 1987.

The Tigers celebrate their victory.
The Tigers have sorely lacked pitching for years, and it is exactly that which is leading them. And other then Kenny Rogers, the rest of the key starters are young. But the inexperience is not phasing them now, when it is most important. Jeremy Bonderman pitched brilliantly tonight. Hopefully this will continue for a while.
