Catching up, and not sure when I will be able to again.
Internet Connection
As is probably obvious, Marcia and I haven’t established an internet connection yet. That will be coming soon however. I was all set to use the area’s DSL, but the cost was just a few dollars lower then cable. So I had to talk to my Mother-In-Law about it before pursuing. I will be calling sometime today, and hopefully will be back on-line at home later this week.
The Cardinals Defeat The Tigers 4 Games To 1
I watched as much as I could of each game. Unfortunately sleep took me many times. I strained to stay awake during Game 5, but fell asleep on the couch sometime in the 8th inning. When...

On Monday night I finished reading “Fall On Your Knees” by Ann-Marie MacDonald. This was her debut novel, being better known for writing plays, as well as acting in them and movies.

Here is a rundown on what the story entails, partially from the inside flap of the hardcover edition, according to Amazon.Com:
Set largely in a Cape Breton, Nova Scotia coal mining community called New Waterford, ranging through four generations … the novel focuses on the Piper sisters and their troubled relationship with their father, James.
At the start of the 20th century, James Piper sets fire to his dead mother’s...

OK. So I know I said it may be quiet around here, but I had some time to kill this afternoon at lunch. And it was an eventful sports weekend.
62 Yards?!
I watched the last 20 seconds of the Eagles-Buccaneers game yesterday. Most Philly sports fans feel their teams are cursed. Yesterday was more proof for them. The Bucs’ kicker, who’s career best was 50 yards, kicked a 62 yard field goal with 4 seconds left, one yard less then the NFL record shared by Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam. Yikes! Of course the Eagles played bad and had to come back with a touchdown with 33 seconds left in the game to take the lead. But they still lost, and that’s the way Philly fans will see it.
Flyers...

Taking a break from moving. Want to say thanks though to Ed, Jimmy, and Tom for helping. Marcia and I appreciate it.
We may be connectionless for a bit. Not sure what we can do at my Mother-In-Law’s for a connection, other then dial-up. So things may get a little quiet around here.

As mentioned before, the Munchkin Man has a cold. The funny thing that has come out if it is his voice. Marcia had noticed that during times that Nigel is babbling, because of his congestion which alters his voice, he sounds like Donald Duck. Maybe the reason this sticks out is from watching “Mickey’s Clubhouse” on the Disney Channel. (“Oh, Toodles!”)
Nigel is also starting to be able to take two to three steps on his own towards us. Marcia has been setting him up so he is standing up with his back against the couch or one of the chairs. She then puts her arms out and encourages him to walk towards her. He has gotten as many as three steps before crashing into her lap, but it’s a great start....

When Marcia and I moved to Pennsylvania (or more correctly, moved me out of my house in Michigan), I was amazed at all the stuff I had kept over the years. I threw a lot of meaningless stuff out. Then when we moved out of our condo a year and a half ago, we threw even more stuff out. Then before Nigel was born and we were reorganizing things to fit him into the second bedroom we tossed even more useless junk. We are doing that again. It is amazing too how into it Marcia is getting.
We really made a dent today and look forward to getting things into our unit from PODS this weekend. We will be doing some shuffling of other stuff later. Our couch, two chairs, and two end tables are going to my Mother-In-Law’s to replace her...

I experienced my first “Oops!” with a BookMooch member. It wasn’t a bad experience, but it turned out to be even better.
The member is a female that goes by the username DEWEY (don’t want to give her real name, but still want to give her kudos). I was looking for a hardcover edition of “The Alienist” by Caleb Carr, and luck would have it that there was a copy available from her. However, she accidently listed it as a hardcover when it was really a mass market paperback.
Now BookMooch lets you give feedback. You gave give one of three ratings: +1, 0, or -1. I gave her a 0 because it wasn’t the edition that was listed, but the book was still in great condition. (If it had been a...

But not one to celebrate.
Nigel has his first cold. The poor little guy is congested. His nose is running like mad, and since his mouth is always open to breathe he is drooling even more now. He woke up in the middle of the night for the first time in months because of it. I have a cold as well, so Marcia took care of him. I think he was only up for about an hour.
He is not letting it get to him too much though. He was all smiles when I woke him up this morning (I got the day off because of the impending move), and he was pretty happy for a while after breakfast and his bath, too. But it’s starting to take it’s toll on him. As I write, he is laying fast asleep on Marcia’s chest while...

Been a while since I posted any pictures of Nigel. Falling behind with everything else going on. Not sure when all these were taken though.
First we have Nigel with Marcia’s Hello Kitty pillow. Marcia was disappointed in not having a daughter because you can’t get a boy Hello Kitty stuff. However it looks like Nigel still likes the pillow.

One night, while sitting on the couch with us, Nigel decided to turn around and lay on his stomach. He was like that for about 10 minutes just watching TV.
