One of the longest streaks in Major League history is over. Florida Marlins’ Anibal Sanchez throw a no-hitter LAST NIGHT against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The last no-hitter thrown before last night’s was on May 18, 2004, when Randy Johnson pitched a perfect game for the D’backs against the Atlanta Braves.

Another significant point to this story is that Marcia and I had gone to see a Wilmington BlueRocks game last spring with David, Catherine, and Lyric. Sanchez was pitching for Wilmington at the time, being part of the Boston Red Sox organization. Sanchez threw 14 strikeouts in only 6 innings, and only gave up one hit. In my POST...
