Birthday Weekend 2006!
Had two birthday parties to attend this weekend. On Saturday was my Brother-In-Law David’s son Lyric’s bash. Originally schedule for the park where the last few where held, we ended up at David and Catherine’s place instead due to the remnants of Ernesto. Then Sunday it was my Sister-In-Law’s son Ryan’s get together.

Both were a lot of fun, and in the afternoon. It seems to work out best that way with Nigel. This way we can still get him home and settled down before that last feeding of the night. At both parties Nigel was back to his jabbering a mile-a-minute phase. He seemed to really enjoy himself. And as always, he doesn’t have any problems with being held by someone else so Mom and Dad can go get something to eat (or just sit and talk to other guests).

Zoom-Zoom
Nigel has found just how fun his walker can be as of late. Before we used to be able to put him in it and he would be fine for an hour. We could even leave the room and know that he was going to be safe and OK for a long time. Well that has changed. His legs get him moving quite a bit now and quite fast. He doesn’t have a lot of room to maneuver, but it’s enough to make us have to watch him closely now.

He is also showing good strength and balance in his legs when holding onto something. It will still take more time and practice, but it is quite possible that he will be walking by the time his first birthday rolls around.

Thanks for the Memories Andre!
I haven’t been able to follow much of the US Open so far this year, but it was going to be Andre Agassi’s last tournament of his career. And today verse Germany’s Benjamin Becker it came to an end. I watched a bit of it at my Mother-In-Law’s before the party started today, and Andre looked like he was in considerable pain. His back has just had it.

Agassi was tennis’ bad boy when he hit the scene, but boy did he change. Before winning Wimbledon in 1992 he was a big underachiever, having the talent to win many Grand Slam events. And the last half of his career he took a more serious approach, shaved his head, and it was all about tennis. After his Wimbledon win, he won seven more Grand Slams, even completing a career Grand Slam.

The Andre Agassi that we have seen the last 10 years is one that never quit. Even if he lost, there was a chance that he worked harder and tried harder then his opponent. And he was always entertaining. Thanks for some of the best tennis the world has ever scene Andre!

One Week Left
Gonna be a bit tough this last week at CHL. Though I am looking forward to moving on, the last three years have been exciting. I learned a lot, and became more comfortable. Plus I realize how much I meant to the company. It also helped that I thoroughly enjoyed who I was working with. In addition to that, I have enjoyed the fellow employees that I have sat by the last three years. They have been work more fun.

Didn’t see the match - i was away - but did see the newsclip of him crying for 5 minutes before saying his goodbyes. Very touching, actually.

That last week of being in a job CAN be rough. You want to DO your job, without leaving anything half done, AND say your goodbyes. Been there. Good luck.
