Back on Saturday afternoon I found some time to watch a movie. Now I am finally posting about it. Cripes, I am falling behind! It was the wonderful little adventure called “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle”.

In many respects, the title of the movie says it all. Harold and Kumar are roomies living in New York. They both smoke reefer, and this particular night while “hitting it”, they see a White Castle commercial. They decide they have to go. The movie then follows them on their little adventure.
The poster image above says that this movie is from the same people that brought you “Dude, Where’s My Car?” I even remember a trailer that said that. What was kind of funny is that at the end of the movie Harold asks that of Neil Patrick Harris (as in Doogie Howser) who is playing himself.
I did SAY at one point that “Dude, Where’s My Car?” was actually better then expected. It still wasn’t great, however. “Harold and Kumar” is actually better. Again to qualify though, we are not talking about one of the best comedic movies of our time. As for a rental, and what I find funny, it was a good movie.
It is not a movie for everyone. It’s rated R and rightly so. Some of the scenes with Neil Patrick Harris play him out to be the exact opposite of what you would expect from Doogie Howser. Especially seeing him “do a line” of cocaine off the bare posterior of a stripper. They were very funny given the nature of the movie.
Mindless, comedic entertainment is needed once in a while. Sometimes, it’s what you crave. This filled in nicely.
