It was rather uneventful. We were wondering how Nigel would hold up, but figured he would be alright. As it was, he did have a crying fit that we are thinking was due to teething. But other then that, he was very good. For the last hour and a half, he entertained himself by watching the traffic (he got a good view from the side window).
The first section of the trip went rather well. Nigel and Marcia caught up on their sleep, and I popped in an audio book. It was Michael Chabon’s “The Final Solution” as read by Michael York. I am about halfway through it...

Marcia, Nigel, Molson, and I are heading off to Detroit for a few days this morning. We rented a mini-van so we could pack everything up with some breathing room (the Jeep Cherokee can’t quite hold everything comfortably). It will be great to see my family again.
It will be a real treat on Thursday when we get the whole family together so all the cousins can meet. Especially since this will be the first time we get to see my brother Todd and his wife Angie’s daughter Jordan.
We will also be spending the part of two days in Grand Haven to see my friend Jeff, his wife Amber, and their sons Carson (4 years old) and Kolby (11 months old).
