“The Dark Domain” by Stefan Grabinski Good News - I Got A Promotion

Though I run the risk of jinxing us, Nigel continues to do better. It was just the guys last night, as Marcia headed out to rehearsal. So we began with a walk around the complex. I was hoping that Nigel would fall asleep, as he didn’t really get a nap during the day. Unfortunately he didn’t, but he was pleasant throughout the walk. He was even looking up at me and smiling quite a bit. And a neighbor stopped us to take a look at him, and he smiled for her as well.

After that, I sat down to feed him. We caught the last half of “Around the Horn” on ESPN. By the time Nigel was done eating, “Pardon the Interruption” had started. Nigel was jabbering through the whole show, obviously agreeing or disagreeing with what Michael and Tony were saying. There were even times when Nigel would look back at me as if to say, “Can you believe he just said that?”

The only issue was getting him to sleep after. He started showing the tired eyes eventually, and I got him to sleep in about 10 minutes, which is good. But then he was up about every 10 to 15 minutes after that, requiring me to go back in and soothe him for anywhere between 2 to 10 minutes. Finally by 7:45 he was out for good.

I am sure that other parents out there feel the same way. But isn’t it amazing how you can get frustrated because your baby won’t go to sleep, or is crying for what feels like non-stop. And yet when they look up at you and smile, it just melts all the frustration away.

I posted this picture again because I think it’s too darn cute. Just this weekend Marcia took some pictures of Nigel and I sitting on the couch together watching TV. They turned out pretty good. Hopefully I will find a way to upload them and get them posted soon.
