Yesterday afternoon I finished “The Dark Domain” which is a collection of short stories written by Stefan Grabinski, translated by Miroslaw Lipinski.

The main reason for my interest in this book was because Grabinski is Polish. He has even been referred to as the “Polish Poe” (as in Edgar Allen Poe) on a couple of web sites that I came across. Now I have not read much of Poe’s work (mostly in high school), and don’t have a tendency to read those type of stories he is most famous for. Though I have wanted to. So when I came across this and saw that he...

… with Norm MacDonald
OK, for some reason I always think of him before Dennis Miller or others. Hey, at least I wasn’t thinking Colin Quinn.
Lansdale Version of “ER”
Marcia, Nigel, and I ended up in the ER on Saturday morning. It turned out to be nothing. We weren’t too worried, but figured it better safe then sorry. On Thursday Marcia had noticed a lump on the back of her neck, more on the left side, and up closer to the base of her skull, close to where the lymph node is. By Friday night it had gotten bigger. It was also a recording breaking win, since my team scored 949 points; the first team in our (short) league history to score over 900 in a week. And if I had played Jonathan Brown of the Brisbane Lions instead of Shane O’Bree of the Collingwood Magpies, I would have scored 1007. (Not that it would have mattered.) I feel sorry for the team that I played, Hanover. They had the second highest score total this week, and still lost by 164.
One...

On Saturday night, Marcia and I finished watching the movie version of “Bewitched”, starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. It only took us about two weeks to get through it.

Now the two weeks to watch wasn’t because it was bad. (Nigel delays is what caused that.) Of course, it wasn’t great either. They didn’t do a direct remake of the show. Nicole Kidman didn’t play Samantha and Will Ferrell didn’t play Darrin. (After all, if they did do it that way, Jim Carrey would have to play a Dick York Darrin.) It was actually done embracing the past TV show. Ferrell plays Jack Wyatt, an actor who’s career...
