For those of you that need to know, our old phone number has now officially been transfered to SunRocket. Disregard the temporary one that I had emailed to you.

Our friends Andy and Yvonne hosted Pizza Night at Andy’s parents place last night. Since Marcia was doing the musical (it runs through Sunday) I decided to do the single parent thing with Nigel. He has been so good lately, without crying or much spitting up. But it all resurfaced last night. I think it was a combination of teething and needing a nap. He was happy for the first five minutes we were there, then he preceeded to cry for over an hour. I fed him early to quiet him down. Then after feeding him, he started spitting most of the formula up. I would say literally half of it. He was happy, smiling, cooing, and jabbering per usual, but like a little fountain of white liquid. It was a trying and tiring night.

The...

After seeing the post about the 50 Worst Albums, and after talking just a couple of days ago with a fellow co-worker about Traffic’s “John Barleycorn Must Die” (which he borrowed and has not gotten back), the fact that my music collection has some holes has had me thinking. There are certain bands that I have heard what I liked, but have only one album, or worst yet none. So who are they?

Traffic – Led by the very young and talented Steve Winwood. He co-founded Traffic when he was 19 years old, and had already gained acclaim from his four years with the Spencer Davis Group. I have nothing from Traffic and honestly don’t think that their greatest hits collection “Smiling Phases”...

So you are going to think that I am reading again at a fast pace. But I am not. I started this book a few weeks ago, and was reading it at the same time as the last book I reviewed. Anyway, two nights ago I finished reading through the short story collection titled “The Fantasy Writer’s Assistant and Other Stories” by Jeffrey Ford.

This is the third book of Ford’s that I have read in the last year. I have had a chance to read a few of his short stories on his web site, before coming across this collection. One of them is actually in this collection (“At Reparata”).

Here is a list of the stories...

50 Worst Albums
This is starting to daisy-chain, but oh well. I saw it on Roger’s BLOG, who saw it on another blog. It was a published list of the 50 Worst Albums. Surprisingly, I don’t have any of them. Many of them I don’t have an interest in getting. Though two of them I have almost bought in the past. And one of those I still intend to get. That being Tin Machine’s second album “Tin Machine II”. For those of you not familiar, that band was comprised of Hunt and Tony Sales who happen...

My team keeps cruising along. This week’s game was sort of close, though not as close as I thought it would have been. One of my players, Tyson Edwards of the Adelaide Crows, sat out due to a minor calf injury. So I had to use one of my “emergency” players, which was Chad Cornes of the Port Adelaide Power. He came up huge by scoring the most points for my team, 131.

This week I take on an even tougher team, the Vancouver Explorers. They are one of the higher scoring teams in the league, and they were undefeated...

So I started watching Game 2 of the Flyers-Sabres series, and the Sabres got up 2-0 in the first three and a half minutes of the game. So I decided to post a few thoughts about the playoffs.

When Will We Know?
The earliest teams know they will play Game 5 is by the end of Game 2. The earliest teams know they will play a Game 6 is by the end of Game 4. But they never know when they will play a Game 7 until they have to.

Damn! They Lost Again!!
Fans seem to get rather upset and distraught when their team loses a playoff game. Here in the Philly area, Flyers fans immediately start jumping off the bandwagon after a loss. But let’s think this through.

The team that...

Last night Marcia and I finished watching “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, the latest of J. K. Rowling’s books made into film.

Here is a plot summary from someone that goes by the username “imann” at the International Movie Database:

Harry’s fourth summer and the following year at Hogwarts are marked by the Quidditch World Cup (that broom flying game for those that need to know) and the Tri Wizard Tournament, in which student representatives from three different wizarding schools compete in a series of increasingly challenging contests. However, Voldemort’s Death Eaters are...

Over the weekend I finished reading a short story collection. It was the 2000 Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction, “Interpreter of Maladies” by Jhumpa Lahiri.

The main characters of the stories either live in India or are of Indian descent and living in the Boston area, whether they were born in America, or having moved their. Though there are two that stray a bit. In “Sexy” the main character is an American girl from Michigan living in Boston (though she is the mistress of an Indian man). And in “Mrs. Sen’s”, it comes from the point of view (though still third person) of an eleven year old boy...
