Marcia took Nigel for his four month appointment with the pediatrician. He is doing really well with his growth, up to 14 and a half pound, and 25 and a half inches tall. The doctor also said that his eating habit are normal, and if he wants more then give it to him, but be cautious and not too much. He did point out though that it might be best to keep him on just the formula and rice cereal for now, maybe waiting until he’s six month old, because of his dry skin. New food at this point could introduce new allergies and make the problem worse. Of course he also said that if we do it slowly now it more then likely won’t be a problem. Just being cautious.
Nigel did get the last of his immunization shots, which Marcia...

There is a news ARTICLE from Yahoo today stating that North Carolina just started their own lottery. The thing that really struck me as strange was that the headline was said North Carolina became the 42nd state to have a lottery.
I know it was shortsighted of me, but I just assumed that every state had their own lottery.

More Moving Neighbors
As I mentioned before, the older woman, Marian, that lived below us moved out on Monday. Yesterday when I got home from work, there was a big truck taking up most of the parking spaces. The couple that lived next to us on the 2nd floor moved out. So we are in the market for two new neighbors. Should be interesting.
Idle Though
I am not a NASCAR fan per se, but if I happened to be a driver …

… I would want my car to be sponsored by Pop Tarts.
Library Outing
So my luck would have it that the only Jorge Luis Borges book they had available...

Red Wings 4, Blues 1
Got to watch most of the first period last night. A few interesting notes. The Wings clinched a playoff spot. Not surprising. Clinching the division is going to be the important one right now. That has become easier since they have pulled away from the Predators.
Also last night, Steve Yzerman tied Mario Lemieux as the 8th leading goal scorer in NHL history with his 690th career goal. Yzerman’s reaction to it: “I don’t really know the significance. If anything, it shows how good (Lemieux) is; he played almost five years less than I did.” Stevie Y’s always been humble. More players need to take lessons from him and Joe Sakic.
The last note was...

Pseudo Happy Birthday Nigel
On Saturday Nigel turned four months old. For his big day, he went to the King of Prussia mall with us. We had to buy a couple of things, especially some clothes for him. One of them was a nice summery outfit that he will wear for Easter.
“I’M TIRED!! WAH!!”
Nigel has been developing a habit that last week of not taking midday naps. So by the time it’s 7:00-8:00 at night, he’s screaming his head off because he’s overtired. (Mommy and Daddy are getting overtired, too.) If anyone has any suggestions on how to get a 4 month old to sleep during the day, please let us know.
Go Patriots!
Not much...

So I have been blogging for almost two years now, but what blogs do I read? Here they are.
Adventures of Mike
Mike, a good friend of David’s, is an acquaintance of mine. Big fan of music and movies, and also soccer. His favorite team being Arsenal from the English Premiership. Also a hockey (Rangers) and football (Giants) fan. A fun loving nice guy that comes with potatoes.
The Bodhisattva
Jay Tomio’s blog, which I have been reading for a few months and just added it to my links this morning. It’s about science fiction and fantasy books, and has a great wealth of information. He co-runs a web site...

Given the little amount of time I have to read these days I am changing my direction. Gonna go with short story collections. I figure this way during those times where I go a couple of days or more without finding time (or not being able to keep my eyes open when I do find the time) I won’t have so much “invested” into a story. That has been the biggest problem lately. It is the equivalent of sitting down and watching the “Lord of the Rings” in 10 minute snippets every day, then missing a day or two along the way. At least with short stories I have the opportunity to finish a story in one sitting, or get through one in a few days if time is short.
Of course I have to finish the book I am currently...

Marcia and I took Nigel along with us and we went to service at St. Paul’s in the Quakertown area. This is where Marcia used to work. It was great to see everyone again. Though some people that I would have liked to have seen didn’t attend this week. Nigel was pretty good through it, getting fed through about the first third of the service. Eventually though Marcia had to take him into the back and change his diaper. I also spent the last 10 minutes of the service in the narthex with Nigel, though he did quiet down. He was even smiling at Pastor Karl when he came back at the end of the service.
We hope to go back there from time to time because we really like the congregation, and we both feel incredibly comfortable...

Marcia and I hosted Pizza Night this past Friday. It was not a typical Pizza Night though. We didn’t make the pizza, just ordered out. With the munchkin man it would be too hard to deal with, given all the food prep before. It turned out to be a fun night though. We had the Villanova game on in the background since the Philly area people were interested. After eating we played Texas Hold ‘Em. Yvonne was the eventual winner. I didn’t have much of anything good, and when I did I just didn’t play it right. After that, the three couples that were playing poker played a game called “In the Hot Seat”. It’s one where you ask potentially embarrassing questions of those involved. I am not really...

I didn’t go into work today. Marcia was having a really bad migraine. They are really getting to her. They have never lasted as long as they do now. Though the pain isn’t quite as bad. Anyway, had a busy day keeping up with the munchkin man along with cleaning the homestead in preparation of us hosting Pizza Night this Friday.
Marcia is taking more steps to conquering her migraines though. She had an MRI done this afternoon. Obviously we are not going to know anything for a bit, and more then likely it won’t reveal anything. She had two others, one about 6 years ago, and another that was 5 years before that (I think), and both of them came up empty handed. Her next step might be going back to the Headache...
