I know some of you that read the Chronicles have dogs, so this might be of interest.
For a few years we have been giving Molson a treat known as “Greenies.” For the uninitiated, they are shaped like a tooth brush and meant to help with bad breath. They’re green, too (go figure). They do work with helping Molson’s breath, and he loves them. He even associates hearing the word “greeny” with them, forcing Marcia and I started referring to them as “verdes” (our pluralized version of the Spanish word for “green”, in case you didn’t know).
Recently though we have heard some bad news about “Greenies.” Dogs have had to have surgery to dislodge parts of them from their digestive tracks. Some dogs have even died because the owners weren’t aware of what was happening. Apparently “Greenies” are not the easiest things for a dog to digest. It was good timing that Marcia had seen reports about them, because just today Molson vomited up about 90% of one she gave him yesterday. It is the first trouble he has had with a “Greenie”, but we have decided that it was the last one he ever gets.
You can read a REPORT that Marcia sent me from the internet (I believe my sister-in-law Paula found the link). It gives you some more information and some other stories of what has happened to other dogs.
