Got a nice surprise today, even though it shouldn’t have been. Marcia and I had eagerly been awaiting the hospital bill from Nigel’s birth. It has been almost three months now, so I dug out the statement of service and gave them a call. Turns out that we don’t owe anything.
Why? We had already met our deductible beforehand. I didn’t pay enough attention to that during the year. Plus I had myself confused after I had talked to one of my fellow co-workers. For some reason I was under the impression that there were things that would happen or treatment rendered during Marcia and Nigel’s stay that would not be covered. So since I had that mindset that we would owe some amount and now find out that we don’t, it was a nice surprise. Whether I should have known or not.
Between that and the ultra-big tax return we are getting, it has been a pretty good week financially.
