Got the two main phones working last night. Used the ol’ computer / computer equipment trick. When all the troubleshooting fails, pull out the plug and let it sit for an hour.

The funny thing is that the third phone probably just died because it’s so old (12-13 years old). Just a coincidence that it died two days after the other two went wonky.

A few nights ago Marcia and I watched the movie “P.S.” starring Laura Linney and Topher Grace. Marcia Gay Harden, Gabriel Byrne, Lois Smith, and Paul Rudd had supporting roles. And yes, it appears that Marcia and I are overdosing on Topher’s work. Ya just gotta deal with it.

Here is a summary written by Sujit R. Varma, courtesy of IMDB.Com:

Louise Harrington (Linney), a divorced, thirty-something admission’s office at Columbia University’s School of Fine Arts is intelligent, pretty, and successful, yet unfulfilled. That is, until a graduate school application crosses...

Sweden Wins Hockey Gold
I didn’t get to see any of the medal rounds games, but it sounds like the gold medal game was good. Sweden, with four Red Wings (Lidstrom, Holmstrom, Samuelsson, and Zetterberg) and two Flyers (Forsberg and Kim Johnsson) on the team, beat Finland 3-2. The Czech Republic beat Russia for the bronze.

It was the only loss of the Olympics for Finland, who was anchored by the tournament MVP, Flyers’ goalie Antero Niittymaki (pictured below).

Though he lost in the gold medal game, this could...

Here is a picture that Marcia took of Nigel in his new outfit.

He will be wearing it for Catherine and David’s wedding next weekend. We also will probably to and get some professional pictures taken of him soon.

Not much to go on, but it is a quote. It is supposed to mimic Jim Broadbent when he played Prince Albert in “Blackadder’s Christmas Carol”. He kept telling Queen Victoria what her surprise Christmas presents were. Now, why do I say this? And I quote myself from earlier today:

As it is, Nigel has been spitting up much, much less, and he is burping a lot faster now. (Did I just jinx it again?)

YES I DID!

He has been spitting up most of what we fed him at 5:30 this afternoon. From now on, I think I am going to keep my big mouth shut.

Forgot to mention that Marcia took Nigel for his 3 month doctor’s visit. The doctor was happy with everything, though he said that we were probably figuring on him eating more then he should. We set up the bottles for 5 to 6 ounces, and the doctor said that he probably would only be eating 4 to 5 now. Anything over that would probably cause him to spit up. As it is, Nigel has been spitting up much, much less, and he is burping a lot faster now. (Did I just jinx it again?) Sometimes we would try for a few minutes and get nothing. Now there are times that he burps before we even try to get him to do it.

One other thing is the soft spot on his skull in the back. The doctor told Marcia the last time he took him that the back...

So the two big, bad North American teams didn’t do squat. The two gold medal game opponents from 2002 played like they needed miracles to win a bronze, let alone gold. Oh well. Even though the US only won one game, Canada sort of looked worse, getting shutout THREE times.

Heres the wrap up. Sweden downed the Swiss 6-2, and now will face the Czech Republic who beat their former countrymen Slovakia, 3-1. Russia beat Canada 2-0, leading them to face Finland, who beat the US 4-3.

I am thinking an all-Scandanavian final here with Sweden and Finland playing for the gold. And hoping that Finland pulls off the minor upset by winning. They certainly have been playing well enough. As for Sweden, they have looked bad a few...

Seven of the eight teams that were expected to make the quarterfinals are in. But no one expected Slovakia and Finland to go undefeated through the round robin. No one expected the Swedes AND the Canadians to both get shutout TWICE. And no one expected Switzerland to not only steal the eighth spot, but to only lose one game on the way to the quarters.

From a personal stand point, I hope the Americans DON’T medal. They don’t deserve to. They have played terrible hockey. They finally started scoring, but it was in the “means nothing” game verse Russia at the end of the round robin, which they still managed to lose. (Kazakhstan had already lost, cementing the Americans fourth place finish in Group B.)

I...

I took the day off of work today to be with Nigel. Marcia has a bad migraine and couldn’t take care of the little guy herself.

Many of you know that Marcia has had migraines for a long time. Just over a year ago she was given a new med that really helps with beating the pain. Then she had a reprieve of them during her pregnancy with Nigel. For some women, the migraines go away after giving birth. Unfortunately they have come back for Marcia. This last one has lasted a few days and isn’t getting better right now. We both think (hope) that it is just a matter of her body catching up and that the new med (called Amerge) will work again soon.
