Nigel Update
The new formula seems to be helping. He has been crying less, and his face appears to be clearing up now. It has been nice. The only drawback has been the smell. The Similac that we had been using was almost odorless. The Enfamil we are using now has an odd smell, and it seems to be permeating from Nigel now that he is drinking it. Oh well. If it works then we can put up with it.
To Sleep, Perchance to Sleep?
The last two nights I have slept more soundly then I have in a long time. And I even mean before Nigel was born. Both nights Marcia got up with Nigel, and he cried at some point, yet I was not woken by it and slept right through. I didn’t even get up at some other point during the night either. It is a wonderful feeling to be heading out the door for work and not feel like I should be heading back to bed.
Dr. House Returns
After a month or so off for the holidays, “House, MD” returned last night with a new episode. Though strange, and probably very rare, it had a new twist to the problem of curing the patient. Played by Michael O’Keefe, the patient was suffering from a condition were he would use the wrong words when speaking, but his brain was telling him they were correct. And it wasn’t all of them either. There was also some interesting developments with Dr. House and his ex-wife (played by Sela Ward, and boy is she great in this role!). The show continues to entertain.
The Big Game is Thursday!
Well, the biggest regular season game of the NHL season is coming up for me tomorrow night. My beloved Red Wings will be hosting my “other” team, the Flyers, at the Joe. I will be covering the game for DetroitHockey.Net, though it is a temporary return for now. (Still on Nigel leave.)
It has the makings of a good game, given that both are top teams in the league. The Flyers have just recently been cooled off with a 3-0 loss to the Devils. But it was game 9 of an 11 game road trip, and they were 7-0-1 going into it. The Wings have lost two in a row now, including losing a 3 goal lead to the Stars, so they will be looking to bounce back.
One thing for you Red Wings fans to watch out for is the Forsberg-Gagne-Knuble line. They have really clicked and have quickly become one of the most dangerous lines in the league, and they haven’t just been padding stats either. They are scoring timely goals.

Scooter hey bud how are ya? Gary Hamlin turned me onto your site. Nice to see things are going good for you. Congrats on the baby, new phase of your life is officially underway with that addition. Good month for a birthday too, mine is 11-28. What’s this soft spot for the Flyers bit though. I must say I am an Eagles fan. Hate to see how their year went this year. I do not remember if you ever met one of my cousins when we were in Louisville but my cousin is married to the EAGLE’S field goal kicker, David Akers. I have gotten to know him pretty good and he is a hell of a nice guy. My kids are geting old. 2 in college one still in high school and the last one in 5 grade. I can’t afford auto insurance with 5 cars on the road. I just moved back in with the family after completing the launch of the Mercedes Plant in Alabama. I live their for 3 years coming home everyother weekend and doing 300k air miles to Europe. Have not had much time to expand on my music collection lately. Alabam is not a place to expand on your musical tastes if you know what i mean. “sweat home alabama” still plays in my head every time I close my eyes. Anyway gonna run now, will check in here from time to time. Take care and again I am glad to see all is good for you these days.

Thanks for stopping by Karl. Great to hear from you!
And to explain the Flyers things, before I got the Center Ice package, I had no choice but to watch Flyers games for three years.

Hi Scott and Marcia,
Glad to hear the Nigel is doing better on the new formula. If the formula has any soy in it, it will have an odor. We had Lisa on soy formula for a while, and it was not pleasant! Babies have such delicate digestive systems for the first few months, it oftens comes down to a trial and error situation until you find what agrees with them.
Thanks for posting the update about Jordan and Angie from Todd. It really helped us know how they are both doing so far.
All our love,
Aunt Mary and Uncle Len

Hope all continues to go well with the new formula for Nigel. It was also good to hear in an earlier posting how he is growing. Hope this means Nigel, Mom and Dad will be feeling a lot better soon. Its so great having three beautiful grandchildren, but man, its been hard to keep up this month. I hope everything settles down soon. I will really be missing you guys this weekend, not being able to make the trip out for the Christening, but my thoughts will be with you the whole time. Love to all three of you, and of course, a pat for Molson!
