Well, to me, at least.
I was watching the new DVD from Rush called “R30″, and it has a whole second disc of extras. Some of these extras are interviews. One was from around 1980 just as the band finished recording “Permanent Waves”. Eventually the conversation (with all three members) took a turn along the lines that they are still fans of music and listen to many artists, and used to even go see concerts, but given their touring and recording schedule don’t get out too much. So the inteviewer asked who they would go see if they could. Geddy, without even thinking, answered very quickly:
Oh, I would go see Yes in a second.
It was cool to see one of my favorite rock musicians being a “fan” about one of my other favorite group of musicians. Sure, I have read a few times that Geddy says Yes’ “Relayer” is one of his favorite albums. But seeing him light up talking about Yes was really cool.
