OK, so a couple of days ago I had the other beers from my trip to the Blue Dog Pub. Finally getting around to posting about them.
Wild Goose - Snow Goose Winter Ale

Not bad, but not great. Or at least to me. I found out after drinking this that Wild Goose brews English style ales. OK, well then they did a pretty good job with this one now that I know. But I was expecting something that had some spices to it, more like a holiday brew. This was a good, dark ale, with a hoppy taste to it. So no wonder it left me disappointed. Still a good brew, just not what I expected.

Wow!! Been hearing about this one from David for a while, and finally got a bottle of it myself. It reminds me of Victory’s Golden Monkey, but with even more flavor. It has barley, white Muscat grapes, honey, and saffron, the same ingredients used in beverages found in an excavated tomb of an ancient ruler that the myth of King Midas’ surrounded. Quite honestly it matters little to me. It is an incredible tasting beer!
It says on the web site that it falls somewhere between beer and mead, which is probably a good description. It also says that it might please those that like Chardonnay. That too is a good description, since I let Marcia, who likes Chardonnay, have a sip and she quickly grabbed my glass for another. And it is a sipping beer. No need to go through three or four of these babies in one night. Unless of course you don’t plan on doing basic things like walking or talking for a few days after.

It is a favorite. Both those description above are well placed.
Ask Paula about this. She enjoyed this at DFH a couple years back and left with a 4 pack (yes, anyone else reading this - they come in 4 packs)
