Wild Goose – Snow Goose Winter Ale

Not bad, but not great. Or at least to me. I found out after drinking this that Wild Goose brews English style ales. OK, well then they did a pretty good job with this one now that I know. Last night I finished “Notice” by Heather Lewis. I read it for the Brew and Book Club, this being the choice for the January meeting.

This is not my usual kind of book. It has some rather graphic sex scenes in it, and they are not erotic/romance type either. The main character and narrator is turning “tricks” as a prostitute, and some of her encounters get rough. There are rumors circling that this book that it is a bit autobiographical. I would tend to believe that given that one of Lewis’ other books has many aspects of her life thrown in. What adds to the story is knowing that Lewis committed suicide...

That’s right! As you may be able to tell from the post title, the Wings played in their first of the “dreaded” shoot-out’s last night. They were the last team in the NHL to partake in this farce. Thankfully they came out on the right end of it.

The Wings celebrate their first shoot-out victory in the club’s history last night against the Blue Jackets.

I didn’t get to see all of the game, actually missing big chunks. Little Nigel needed attention, as well as my email. But what I saw of the game the Wings still looked shaky. The Blue Jackets however looked much better then they...
