BE AFRAID!!

BE VERY AFRAID!!
Well, to me, at least.
I was watching the new DVD from Rush called “R30″, and it has a whole second disc of extras. Some of these extras are interviews. One was from around 1980 just as the band finished recording “Permanent Waves”. Eventually the conversation (with all three members) took a turn along the lines that they are still fans of music and listen to many artists, and used to even go see...

Here are some more pictures of Nigel.
We first have two recent pictures of him hanging out in his little rocker. It also has a vibrate function which seems to really soothe him.
He’s a cutie (just like his Dad, right?).
Now here one we took today. While Marcia and I were busy with things around the house, we enlisted Molson watch over Nigel. (That was a joke if you needed to know.)
And here is the family the day after Christmas...

Return to Forever - “Romantic Warrior”

Tracks:
The very first time I came across the name of Return to Forever was in some lists I had read in a music magazine. The editors had asked famous rock musicians to list some of their favorite albums. Return to Forever’s albums showed up on Geddy Lee’s list (Geddy being the bassist, keyboardist, and lead singer of Rush, for those of you that didn’t...

Wanted to send some more thank you’s out to those that have contributed to the building of Nigel’s college fund. Thanks to Uncle Joe, Grammy Kovach, my Mother-in-law, and my Uncle Len and Aunt Mary!
We know who we are going to set the college fund up with; a family of mutual funds in a 529 account. And we keep getting closer and closer to the minimum amount needed to open an account. Though I still need to call them. Uncle Joe mentioned that we may have enough already, especially if we set up the fund with an automatic deduction from our checking account (they give you a break and lower the initial investment).
Again, THANK YOU to everyone who has given Nigel such wonderful gifts!
Red Wings 4, Stars 1
I only was able to watch the first period of this game due to feeding Nigel and just being damn tired. But the first period showcased some good hockey. The Stars came out on fire, and luckily for the Wings Chris Osgood was equally hot. At times the Wings were looking a little slow with some sloppy play, but credit the Stars for playing great hockey that would make any team look bad.
But like the usual Wings over the years, even when getting out played, they were patient and silently deadly. They finally got a few good clears and starting bringing the puck into the Stars’ end, and finally found a small mistake to pounce on which happened between Stars’ goalie Marty Turco and...

Over the course of a couple days, Marcia and I watched “War of the Worlds” starring Tom Cruise. This is the Steven Spielberg production based on H. G. Wells famed book, made even more famous by Orson Welles’ radio broadcast many years ago.
For those of you that are not familiar with the plot of the book, and movie, Earth is invaded by aliens. And quite honestly, in both Hollywood and in print editions, this is just too overdone. Sure, it’s a classic book. But maybe it should have been kept that way. Or the movie kept to the time frame that events in the book happens. After all, we basically had this same thing...

Had a pretty good Christmas. It was nice staying in one place this year, given that we had Nigel. The only thing missing was lack of sleep. When everyone came over on Sunday, I was snoozing on the chair in front of the TV down in the basement. I came up and almost feel asleep there in front of everyone. This lack of sleep in really making me cranky. I don’t know how Marcia is putting up with it; both her lack of sleep and my crankiness.
Dinner was very good, and the cookies were even better. My Mother-in-law makes some great chocolate chip cookies. Nigel made out quite well with gifts. Got some very nice clothes, and bigger sizes (he is starting to really fill out the 3 month old stuff). He also got so more money to...

Over the course of the next few days Marcia, Nigel, and I will be at my Mother-in-law’s place. We figured it was easier with all the Christmas festivities and preparation happening. And since her source of the internet super-highway comes from an old laptop that is very slow and dial-up service, plus with having a child to attend to, I am not sure I will have much time to “blog” over the next couple of days.
So I wanted to take the time now to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, or at least a Happy Holidays, depending on your beliefs. May...

My brother Brian made a wise comment on a post of mine where I said that it seemed Nigel had enough clothes to get him through until he grew into larger sizes. Brian’s comment was that I don’t realize just how often you may change a baby’s clothes for whatever reason. I learned this first hand two nights ago when Nigel went through four sleepers in about 20 minutes. He kept spitting up before we could get a bib on him. Though one of those times a bib wouldn’t have helped much. I had to change my shirt and pants too on that one.
Marcia and I are now learning to let Nigel cry when we put him down to sleep. He has to learn too that it’s time for bed and we can’t always hold him. Quite honestly...
