Four losses in a row now. Yikes! And they lost to the Blues! Double yikes!
OK, so I think the Blues are underachieving, but still. It was only their fourth win of the season. On the other hand, the Blues were coming off a shutout of the Columbus Blue Jackets, and now are actually on a winning streak after losing the eleven games before that. Still, the Wings looked flat again.

Blues’ rookie goalie Curtis Sanford.
Now I also don’t want to take away from Blues’ goalie Curtis Sanford. He was between the pipes for the shut-out of the Blue Jackets, and he looked good tonight against the Wings. He might help get the Blues moving in the right direction. There have been many times a young goalie has stepped in and helped right the ship. Sanford has been replacing Patrick Lalime who did exactly that in Pittsburgh many moons ago, going 14-0-2 in his first 16 games in the NHL. So who knows.
The Wings on the other hand need to get some confidence back. Everyone that was hot at the start of the season (Samuelsson, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Williams) are now not scoring. The only guy that has consistently been putting it in the net has been Shanahan.
