The Wings got away with an overtime win last night. I was hoping and praying that it wasn’t going to go to shoot out. Thankfully Jiri Fischer sent a wrister towards the net from the high left slot and made it through. Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov appeared to be screened on the shot.

Jiri Fischer celebrates his overtime goal to boost the Wings past the Sharks.

You can read my RECAP over at DetroitHockey.Net if you would like. Still not great, but I think I will eventually get the hang of doing it like the pros do. (Leaving out my opinions and smartass comments.)

A Red Wings fan, eh? Well, maybe you can help me with something.

Steve Yzerman — stays on my fantasy hockey team or gets dropped?

Yes Cody, it’s good to have hockey back.

Pacze, I would consider letting Stevie go. I have him on one of my teams and am considering letting him go. He has already missed 5 of 6 games. It depends on how many teams you have in the league. If there are quite a few (dozen or more), it might be worth holding onto him. He may still give you 30 points or more. After all, when he is playing, he will be playing on the same line with Draper and Maltby. If you have fewer teams, my hunch is there is someone else that may produce more for you. In my case, I am in a 6 team league and it’s a keeper league. So I am thinking of getting someone younger that will be around next year. Hope this helps you.

scotts got good advice, my advice is spend more time on your wristshot and less time in front of the computer ;)

Just watched the Habs win over Boston, greatest rivalry in the league, taking nothing away from quite a few other duels. simply glad bout the NEW nhl and increased division matchups. how bout yall?

  6. Scott Says:

In the long run I think it will be good. I am disappointed that the Wings will only play the Leafs, Habs, and Bruins twice every two out of three years. But for the playoff chase atmosphere, divisional rivalries are good.

I know from the Flyers’ fans opinions, they like it. More games against those damn Devils and hated Rangers. :)
