Another Nigel Update
Sorry to disappoint you David, but it appears that Nigel is not as far along as originally reported two days ago. After the ultrasound yesterday, the doctor (not Dr. Maguire) said the reason the measurements were so big is because Marcia is carrying more amniotic fluid then what’s typical. It is not too much, but all the way at the top of the “average” range. This could lead to pre-term labor, so they are going to watch it. But Nigel’s growth is exactly where it is expected to be for a baby at 31 weeks. So more variables to throw in there. All in all though it was a positive appointment.
Mom and Dad’s Visit
My parents are coming out to see Marcia and I today. They will be staying with us through the weekend and heading back to Detroit on Monday morning. The reason for the trip (other then to see us) is to attend Marcia’s baby shower.
Looking forward to seeing them since we won’t be seeing the family during the Christmas holidays. We will still be adjusting to life as parents and it would be too much to travel. We plan on taking them out to dinner on Sunday, and my Dad and I will be going to the Flyers-Islanders game on Saturday.
Who’s in Charge of the Music Around Here?!
Was watching some of the Lightning-Sabres game last night and couldn’t believe my ears. Bolts’ player Darryl Sydor was shaken up after a check behind the net. The refs stopped play so the trainer could attend to him. So what song do you think they played over the PA during this injury time out? The theme to “M*A*S*H”. Seems a little tacky don’t ya think? Funny, but tacky.
For the record, the Sabres won in shoot-out. The defending champs are not looking too hot either.

Hey Scoot. Sorry that I can’t make the trip out with Mom and Dad. I hope that Marcia has a great shower. I will be out after the little guy is born.
Ok, as a side note, I want to thank you for being so knowledgable about so many things. I have been working on a multi-media presentation, for school, on hockey and have been able to find some good info and pictures from your site here. Or I have been able to find links of places to go for info. So thanks for being such a hockey freak! Love ya.

Oh it’s a shame about Nigel!
Where do your parents live?
BTW, we got to the World Cup Finals! England won the group, which was fantastic!
I have a bet going with a friend that if England win the World Cup, I’ll run down our hill naked!!
I think I’m pretty safe though. *g*

I wouldn’t say it’s totally over for David. I really don’t want him to arrive that early, but with more amniotic fluid I am at risk for pre-term labor, so hopfully this pre-term labor will be atleast at 36 weeks, so his little lungs are better developed. I mean they are considered full term at 37 weeks, which puts him on Nov. 25th, my pick for his birth.
As long as he is healthy.
