NHL’s Opening Night! Flyers 5, Devils 2
Oct 07

Last night, thanks to Comcast’s bogus schedule information, I missed the first period of the Wings and Blues second game of their home-and-home. The on-screen guide said the game started at 9:00. I thought it was wrong, but waited until then to tune in. Should have trusted myself.

Wings’ Tomas Holmstrom sets up shop in front of Blues’ goalie Patrick Lalime.

The Wings were up 2-1 at that point already. They looked pretty sharp from what I saw, but the Blues were much improved from the night before. Especially in the third period as they rallied to close the deficet with a couple of quick goals. But the Wings held them off.

The Wings’ next game is against the Calgary Flames and will be a debut of sorts for me. DetroitHockey.Net is a great site for Wings’ fans and follows the action every game with game recaps and articles. I will be doing game recaps for the site, now that I have the Center Ice package. I am looking forward to it, since I like to write (go figure, eh). Of course I will have to revert to my high school newspaper days and remember to keep my sarcastic comments to myself.
