Another hockey game, another missed first period. Marcia and I didn’t realize the game was on. We have been getting too caught up watching Jeopardy! lately. (Though this is a good thing.) The Flyers were down 1-0 when we tuned in and were nearing the end of the first.

A few minutes into the second period Alexander Mogilny put the Devils up 2-0 and were looking quite good, while the Flyers looked to be struggling like they did on Wednesday. But finally things started turning their way. Peter Forsberg led a charge in on one play and set up Simon Gagne, but was stopped by Brodeur. However, on the ensuing face-off, Forsberg set up in front of the next and after a couple of shots the puck rebounded to Gagne who put it in.

Last night, thanks to Comcast’s bogus schedule information, I missed the first period of the Wings and Blues second game of their home-and-home. The on-screen guide said the game started at 9:00. I thought it was wrong, but waited until then to tune in. Should have trusted myself.

The Wings were up 2-1 at that point already. They looked pretty sharp from what I saw, but the Blues were much improved from the night before. Especially in the third period as they rallied to close the deficet with a couple of quick goals. But the Wings...
