So Marcia and I got new phones. And for a very discounted price. : )
What happened was that Marcia was in Radio Shack a couple of days ago. I called her on the cell phone and the guy behind the counter noticed how old her phone was. He said that we could get new phones for free with Sprint’s upgrade program. We were skeptical, but went to check it out last night. Sure enough, Sprint gives it’s customers $150 towards a new phone every 18 to 24 months. We were 5 years behind, having our phones now for almost 7 years. So we found a couple we liked, and it only cost us $50 total.
It took a while to get the phones working, because their internet connection kept locking up, and the service guy was on hold with Sprint for about 20 minutes. What was really funny is that the service through the web site wanted to give us a 937 area code for the Dayton, Ohio area, where I originally bought the phones.
After charging the phones last night, I tried to make a call with mine and could not. So I called Sprint and found out that when they took the information they totally screwed up the info. They put Marcia’s old phone serial number and code on my phone number, then took my new phone serial number and code and put it on Marcia’s phone number. EEK!! Can we not get any good customer service?
Well, actually yes we can. The guy that helped me during that call got everything straightened out, though it took a long time. Kudos to him, whoever he was. Unfortunately I didn’t catch his name. The only problem with the call was that I missed most of the second period between the Wings and Blues. Oh well.
We still need to go back to Radio Shack though. Marcia’s phone still won’t turn on for longer then 5 seconds after 12 hours of charging. I swear, sometimes I think all this new technology is too much.

I’ve corrected my blog. Your first message was too cry0ptic for me, I’m afraid. “I’m afraid I’m the one…” I thought it wass a riddle.
My sister’s name is Marcia. How does yours pronounce her name. When she was up north, she was MARSHA, but in the south, she’s MAR SEE’ AH.

Yeah Roger, I didn’t think about that, it was cryptic. I always click the name links to find out who it is, just in case. I should have thought of that before.
And did I get your last post confused with the other Scott? I think I was half asleep when I read it. My apologies.
My wife pronounced is MARSHA. She still gets people here in Pennsylvania calling her MAR SEE AH. Kind of strange.
