This afternoon, I finished the second book that I have “read” by Ted Dekker. This time it was “Black” and it was in book form.

This is book one of a trilogy. The series is called “The Circle”, with this book being subtitled “The Birth of Evil”. The main character is Thomas Hunter, a 25 year old that is not making much of his life, though having set aside a chance at a good college education to take care of his mom and his sister. His father is a pastor of a Christian church, though he ran off with another woman.

This afternoon, Marcia and I were at the park for Lyric’s birthday party (Lyric is David’s son). It was beautiful weather for it. Low 80′s, no humidity, little cloud cover, and a nice cool breeze. We had some hoagies (subs to those of us from the Midwest) along with salads and chips brought by other guests. And Lyric got some cool gifts. Two really stood out. The first was a Lego off-shore racing boat with a motor. The other was a homemade game, called “Am I Bugging You?”, made my David’s Mom. It was very cool and looked like she put a lot of thought and work into it.
