Today Marcia and I celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary!

Hard to believe it has been 4 years already. It goes by so fast. And now with a child on the way, I am sure our lives will speed up some more. More specifically though, this last year, and especially the last 8 months have been very good. A lot of issues have been taken care of, and I don’t the two of us have been happier.
We are going to the General Lafayette Inn for dinner tonight. We opted for someplace new to us, instead of the old stand-bys (though they are good, too).

Last night Marcia and I finished watching the third season of “Red Dwarf”.

Like the other two seasons, there are very good episodes, and then some that aren’t quite as interesting. Though still it is entertaining. There are some major differences this season. All new sets. They added Kryten 2X4B 523P, a butler-like robot (they saved him from an abandoned ship at the end of the second season). And Holly, the talking ships’ computer, now has a female likeness.
The seasons continue to get better. Though like I said, there are episodes that don’t come across as really funny, just amusing. Still worth watching.

Alright! Since I have been complaining about one thing or another lately, I needed to add something funny. I happened across this animated image earlier today. For those that liked the sketch from SNL or the movie, you should get a kick out of it.

TigerDirect.Com (for those that don’t know) is an on-line store for computer supplies. Marcia and I bought a new computer from them a few months ago. Things were going fine until the PC started rebooting at random times. And sometimes it would continually reboot.
David looked at it and determined it wasn’t software. It was a problem with the motherboard or the processor. So I called TD, told them the symptoms, and they said the same thing. So we started with returning the motherboard. It took about two weeks, even having to first contact the manufacturer. Not bad really, considering all that needed to happen. But after David installed the new motherboard, the PC was still having the same problems. So I called...

Relaxin’ at Home
Yesterday, if you hadn’t noticed or don’t live in my neck of the woods, was a gorgeous day. I would say it was in the mid 80’s with no humidity. Boy, it’s been so long I almost forgot how nice summer days feel. When I got home from work, I spent a little time with Marcia and Molson. I then ended up falling asleep for about 15 minutes with Molson. But after, I went out on the deck and read for about an hour. It was too nice to pass up. Just wish we had more days like that this summer. Been too muggy.
The Bud Beer and Economy School
Something has been bothering me, and I really shouldn’t let it. But the woman that hosted the “Bud...

While vacationing in Virginia, my team won their last game of the regular season. After losing 8 straight, I managed to go 7-4 in the last 11 games.
We are having “other” playoff games while the top 4 teams play the “finals.” (In the AFL, the playoffs are referred to as the Finals, and the championship game as the Grand Final.) I was seeded up with the bottom four. I beat Napa Valley last week, and this weekend face Toronto.
I am looking forward to next season, now that I am looking at the stats correctly. We will be keeping a certain amount of our rosters. Then draft again so each team has 12. Hopefully I can improve on this year with better choices up front.

So a lot of fans are wondering what the heck is going on in Pittsburgh. Here is a team that was said to be on the brink of bankruptcy …… again. They were crying poor, along with other smaller market teams. They were supposedly going on the market to be sold, and quite possibly to someone who would move the team (to Houston, Kansas City, or Portland). So what has happened now?
The Pens sign Sergei Gonchar, Ziggy Palffy, and John LeClair. They had already signed Mark Recchi before the lock-out. Then they trade for Jocelyn Thibault. And I am sure that Sidney Crosby signed for the maximum a rookie can, or is awful damn close. Marc-Andre Fleury for that matter, too. And by the way, even though he may be not getting...

This morning I finished the audio book “THR3E” by Ted Dekker. It is listed as a thriller, and rightly so. The whole time I have been listening to this, I thought it might make a good movie.

WARNING!! IF YOU HAVE ANY INTENTION OF READING THIS, DO NOT READ MY REVIEW. GIVEN THE NATURE OF WHAT I DISCUSS, IT GIVES AWAY MAJOR PLOT POINTS (MEANING, THE ENDING).
Here is part of the synopsis from Publishers Weekly’s review found on Amazon.Com
…… this psychological Christian thriller about Kevin Parson, a 28-year-old seminary student who suddenly becomes...

So tonight, thanks to Netflix and Marcia’s love of the “frat pack” movies, we watched “Old School” this evening, starring Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, and Will Ferrell.

Because of an unfortunate incident with his girlfriend, Mitch (Luke Wilson) finds himself renting a house on his own. Eventually Frank (Will Ferrell) moves in with him because of his failing marriage (which lasts all of a few weeks). The house they have though is near Harrison University’s campus. It has been rezoned by Dean Gordon Pritchard (Jeremy Piven). So it has to house something related to the school, or community service. So along with Beanie...

As I mentioned, I had been reading two books on vacation. This is the second book I started, “Survivor” by Chuck Palahniuk. I finished it this morning. The author was the one that brought us “Fight Club” which was turned into the Brad Pitt / Ed Norton film.

Here is a brief rundown on the book, which was part of Bob Michaels review from Amazon.Com:
Starting at chapter 47 and screaming toward ground zero, Palahniuk hurls the reader back to the beginning in a breathless search for where it all went wrong. This time out, the author’s protagonist is self-made, self-ruined mogul-messiah Tender Branson, the...
