In the latest NEWS, it appears that the second owners of the WHA (now probably best standing for the What’s-the-point Hockey Association) are going to sell to another group. This will be the third group to own the league, hoping to take advantage of the NHL labor problems. And yet, not one puck has been dropped.
On the league’s WEB SITE, there was talk of having a really cool six team tourney during the summer. That never materialized. Now with the pending return of the NHL, this all becomes pretty useless. Unless some dire circumstances hit the NHL. But if that has anything to do with it...

Earlier this week, I finished reading the first book of four in the omnibus titled “The Eternal Champion” by Michael Moorcock. The book within the omnibus was titled the same. It is the first book of the very famous “Eternal Champion” series, aka “Multiverse” by Moorcock. Over all, the series, when it was republished into hardbacks, contains 15 omnibuses and 3 novels (published with the last few years, the latest just a month ago), and one collection of short stories.

Last night, Marcia and I finished watching the second season of “Red Dwarf” on DVD. Though Marcia missed a couple of episodes along the way.

Just a refresher, Dave Lister is stranded on the “Red Dwarf”, a former mining space ship, 3 million years plus into the future. He was stuck in a life stasis chamber while the crew died around him and the contaminants were cleared out by the ship’s computer Holly. Along with Lister is Arnold Rimmer, a holographic representation of the real Rimmer who died along with the crew. Also there is Cat, the 3 million year evolved species who is...

Some interesting quotes (to me at least) regarding the upcoming ratification vote by the players for the new CBA.
Obviously, it’s going to be difficult. You’re basically just going to have to swallow that little pill, that pride pill, and go out and do it and bring people back into the circle. That’s what it’s going to take. It’s going to take everybody working together. It’s going to take the players going out into the community.
